Liberalism is full of ideas so great that they are mandatory. Liberals are all about Free speech as long as you agree with them, they don't have any tolerance for any opinion but their own.

They will shout you down and ostracize you and try to get you blacklisted from society and accuse you of "hate speech".

Hate speech is any speech that liberals hate to hear.

There's nothing tolerant, liberal, or progressive about today's so-called tolerant liberal progressive.

You can't claim their pro constitutional rights when their agenda is constantly seeking to strip people of their second amendment rights.

You certainly can't claim they're all about the first amendment because of reasons I outlined above.

That list that you listed might have been true of liberals in the classical sense of liberalism but it bears zero resemblance to today's progressive liberal

 

The word welfare does not mean this. There was no sense of welfare as we understand it today, back then.

The wording is to care for the general welfare of the nation. It has nothing to do with doctor bills.

Can you cite any constitutional scholars who argue that food stamps are what the FF meant when they mentioned welfare of the nation? Any SCOTUS decisions would carry the most weight.

 

If food stamps are issued to the hungry who are part of we the people then it seems absolutely in line with the aspiration of the Constitution.
It doesn’t say ‘I the individual’, the document is socialist to it’s very core.

In the end its very similar, although leftists claim otherwise. Its in the end a matter of totalitarism and how extreme this state is. I would prefer living in Chile under Pinochet over living in the SU under Stalin, but I would prefer living in Tito's Jogoslavia over living under Adolf Hitler's in his Third Reich. The alternatives arent good anyways. I would be opportunistic enough to survive or maybe even make a living worth the word "living" in these less evil alternatives, but it always means complete supression of the individual and living in the knowledge that terrible things are done to people less opportunistic than me.
