Would you vote for a Muslim for President of the USA? as long as he shared our democratic and secular values, I see no problem. what do you think? would this be a good thing?
If you voted for Obama, you already have. He has spent far more time defending Muslims at home, and allowing Radical Muslims to expand abroad. Satan, I mean Allah, couldn't be happier.
If the Muslim agreed to eat pork, drink beer and condemned Hamas and Iran for their Terror, I could vote for the Muslim to be a prison warden at Gitmo. I don't think I could vote for him to be President like another Obama... he has destroyed our country and continues to defend his fellow Thugs who defy police orders. The problem with Muslims is that they put other Muslims above their country and so commit terror.
Which makes Obama one helluva hypocritical Muslim and even more dangerous, since no one can trust him. I reckon Obama is a Shia, since he is happy to kill Sunni Muslims, made a deal with Iran to have nukes and he hates Israel too.
Oh really? This is GREAT that you personally know him and his religion. How often do you and he pray together? Please recite examples of the prayers you say together or you've ever heard him pray. His private religion certainly can be opposite of what he publicly professes. Publicly he has claimed the Muslim call to prayer, not the Lord's Prayer, is the most beautiful to him. But, of course, he could have been lying in public. - - - Updated - - - Would you vote for a self described Nazi if he professed he will separate his personal values from his actions as president or are you a bigot? Or a KKK member who said he will separate his personal beliefs from his job as president? Apparently most people would.
Any moslem that would be acceptable to most Americans would be killed by other moslems long before he got close to being president.
I would ask him if he believes in the First Amendment's establishment clause which is the source of our doctrine of a separation of church and state. If he said "yes," I'd ask him how he can reconcile this with Islam. Depending on his answer and whether I believed him/her, I might do so. Would depend on opponents. All things being equal, I am uneasy with the idea of a truly observant taking an oath to support and defend the constitution (Christian religions do not present this tension because we are to "render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's). I believe of course that there are Muslims who would respect this separation if they were President. - - - Updated - - - Also, regarding the poll, I don't know what you mean by "100% secular."
No. At least I wouldnt vote for one if I were American or if this included the UK. I also wouldnt vote for a Jew or an African or an Indian.
Again, I think the author has intentionally limited the response to elicit specific reactions from poll respondents. I voted NO, because I am not sure that one can conceive of themselves as "100%" secular and Muslim at the same time. Even under the assumption that one could be "100%" secular and Muslim, how could they follow Sharia law as demanded by the Koran and still not only follow but enforce current law. Other religions place expectations on their believers, but they do not state these expectations as laws which every inhabitant must follow or be condemned to death or mutilation.
I wonder where this guy parks his car. - - - Updated - - - Lol people really think Obama is a Muslim. Just say what you mean, he's black. "Muslim Marxist from Kenyan" lol get a grip lads.
Oh, now you've done it, you do know the haters here will just ignore that fact and Wash, Rinse, Repeat their BS.
No, I wouldn't. I have no doubt many, if not most, Muslims in America are fully committed to the principles of this nation, and even if none were I would be glad to see a strong religion and consideration of reviving Theocracy. However, as members it is incumbent upon us to preserve the traditions of Western Civilization. The Presidency is not merely a job, it is also a symbol of the Western World. To elect a follower of another civilization's religion would damage the integrity and credibility of our civilization and its institutions. All this talk of Obama being a Muslim is nonsense, however. His actions in the middle east indicate nothing more than a philosophy of international relations, and his overall actions as president are more readily explained by his being a liberal than by believing he has been lying his entire life about his religion in order to make some very moderate changes to our foreign policy.
I voted Yes I vote for the person with the best ideas for this country. If that person happens to practice Islam so be it. Frankly I would not even ask a persons religion since I do not feel it is relevant to them doing the job.
yeah, can you believe this quote http://www.cnn.com/2010/OPINION/09/13/zelizer.bush.muslims/index.html "Those who feel like they can intimidate our fellow citizens to take out their anger don't represent the best of America; they represent the worst of humankind, and they should be ashamed of that kind of behavior," oh wait, that was Bush, he must of been a Muslim too.... .
Obama isn't a Christian. Christians don't sit for 20 years under a hateful bigot like Jeremiah Wright. I believe Obama is sympathetic to Islam and is an opportunist.
You need to "keep it real" and focus on the question of the OP: would you vote for a Muslim President. I say "Heck NO!" As Ben Carson would tell you Islam and Sharia Law are not compatible with the Constitution. If I had the Koran as my Avitar, then you could guess I'd vote for a Muslim. Maybe, I mean maybe, if the candidate was very conservative on the issues and denounced most of the Koran---then he might get my support. How about this question for you? "Would you vote for a conservative Christian for President?"
