I never said all pot smokers were awful. But what I saw 40 years ago was not very attractive. I am 100% sure there are responsible, clean pot smokers out there. I just don’t know any of them and I have no desire to start smoking.
Always been a fan of the Bill Hicks skit on that... "O my meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I left ****ing pot everywhere..... **** now I'll have to create Republicans"
I actually don't smoke weed right now but I would if it was legal and I had choice of strains. Not that legality bothers me lol.
I am a Republican just one that thinks weed should be legal and taxed I am not the only one even in this thread.
I am quite certain you know responsible pot smokers. It might be your doctor or your hair stylist or your favorite waitress. It could be your neighbor. You likely know many pot smokers. We just aren't out bragging about it. If someone in real life goes on about the devil's weed, we just sit there and smile politely.
Why would you let your perception of a massive group of people be based on such a limited sample ? Should someone who gets called a name by a fat kid in high school have the perception that all fat kids are evil - and live based on that perception for the rest of their lives ? This is not about whether you should take up pot as a hobby. This is about the nonsensical proposition and fallacy on which your perception is based. As I stated at the outset - the high school I went to the Preps, Jocks and everyone else smoked pot. It is just what you did back then where I grew up. These folks showered, wore nice clothes and (sans some of the jocks) could all put together a complete sentence. I gave you examples of highly successful people who smoke or have smoked pot - Past Presidents included. At what point do you say - "perhaps my initial perspective was Jaded" ? - and obviously the car comment was ridiculous. This does not mean that you should go out and hit the bong ... as I said previously I havn't smoked the stuff in decades (sans perhaps having a toke perhaps once every couple of years when the opportunity arose - which just served to remind me why I don't smoke the stuff).. what it does mean however, is that perhaps you should reconsider your initial perspective based on information that contradicts that initial perspective.
Let it go, man. You’re never going to convince me to start smoking pot or that pot smokers are better than the rest of us.
Except he expressly said he didnt want you to start toking, nor did he make a value judgment on pot smokers v non pot smokers of which he is one. Gotta take that chip off your shoulder and read what's written.
Texas Republican seems more interested in scoring cheap shots, rather than reading what people have to say and responding to that. Intellectually dishonest people are not to be taken seriously.
I don’t care what’s written. Some people are obsessed with pot. I am not. I’m more interested in the mating habits of the Somali ostrich.
For someone not obsessed, you sure do talk and judge others about it quite a bit. Could you please link to all of your writings on the Somali ostrich, so I can view your non-obsession with them?
What a joke of a post ... based on the false inference that I have tried to convince you to start smoking pot or that pot smokers are better. Building strawman due to some kind of denial/avoidance mechanism is pathetically lame.
Emphasis mine of course. Hard to have a discussion with you about anything if you don't care what someone says. Particularly when they say the exact opposite of what you claim they did.
You don’t understand ... I don’t want to have a discussion. I don’t want to debate. I don’t care what anyone else says, at least on this issue. I’d rather watch paint dry than discuss pot. But for some people, it’s evidently the most important topic on the planet.
Who is forcing you to participate in a thread where we are discussing marijuana? I've been doing forums for 15 years, and I haven't been forced to participate in a thread even one time. You should contact a mod about your issue.
Obviously I'm a Bill Hicks fan as well. I might have politically different views to the late great Bill Hicks but that doesn't make him any less funny
You don't understand: You made factual assertions about what someone wrote here. You claimed they said certain things and wanted certain things from you. In point of fact, that was entirely incorrect. When this is pointed out to you, your response is "I don't care what's written", when what we're talking about is your claim of what was written.... You also have commented a hell of a lot on this thread, and other pot legalization or news threads, for someone who would rather watch paint dry than discuss pot.
Did you have a 2.01 GPA like the potheads I knew? Do you shower enough? Do you drive a rusted 1987 Chevrolet?
I wish... Like literally would happily swap my 2008 Audi for a rusty Camaro if it was practical but I love muscle cars. Even if the 80's ones are a bit "crap" they still beat that 90's monstrosity. One day soon Pontiac Transam will live again
1967-69 were good years for the Camaros and all muscle cars. Even the Mercury Cougar XR7 was a hot car, the “American Jaguar”.
I work as a DBA taking care of a major system for a multi-billion dollar worldwide corporation. I make very good money. I own my own home, I do charity work and also support my community. I pay tens of thousands in taxes to the federal government each year. Your issue isn't with a plant; your issue is with your own faulty perceptions that you made a half a century ago.
Preaching to the converted, 67 SS or GTO Judge for me, but the Bandit car (77 Trans Am) will always have a soft spot in my heart.
