I answered your question then responded to another poster responding to my post. Wasn’t trying to hijack

 

A war in which nuclear-states could actually lose to each other, with all that that word entails, would inevitably turn nuclear. It might start small, with tactical nukes, but the losing side WILL use them because what do they have left to lose if they're already going to lose? If I was, say, the Russians, in a war against the U.S., and the fortunes of war started turning against me, I would demand a return to the pre-war status quo or the missiles start flying.
