What is there to explain when trump isnt getting enough delegates to have a mayority?

    Perhaps more visual?

    http://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/election-2016/delegate-targets/republicans/

He's at 92% to get at 1237 and he should have gotten 18 and all current numbers give him around 3-5 making him run even more behind.

Since when is 48.3% a "solid" 50%? Hahahaha! Thread fail!

    LOL! Sounds like wishful thinking.

You are talking about numbers in one state: Wisconsin. There are still more to go. Still 92% is pretty good at this point. Where is Teddy?

Won't be either Cruz or Trump as their delegates won't move between them if either is out. Kasich is too much of a long shot. The eventual nominee is going to be Paul Ryan. Hillary will still win due to the damage Trump has caused to the party brand but it will be more of a contest.

There is actually no shortage of explanations available, all over the news media.

Meanwhile, Trump continues to hide. He did not appear in public to give a concession speech, a tacky rarity in primary election politics (no event , no surrogates or spin room either).

He still hides. Announcing one event less than a day in advance, and another two days in advance.

The GOP is well on its way to a brokered convention. One that Trump has NO chance of emerging from as the candidate.

Yes but trump has had a very bad week and it seems to reflect in the voting. Its seems more and more unlikely he will get 1237 delegates. Even if he massivly wins in new york he needs more states where he scores 60-70+% to pick up enough delegates.

Add to that the dislike to trump in the GOP itself , his general lack of being any credible general canidate its clear trumps changes are disapearing with ever state like this.

Nowhere near trumps but he doesnt need to be if he wants to win at the convention. He seems more and more to be the concensus candidate.

Interesting theory, but Ryan genuinely appears to not want the job. He might be willing to run in four years to unseat Hillary. I think if it isn't Trump or Cruz it'll have to be the "grown-up" choice of John Kasich.

There should be a minimum of 2 rules that are clearly fair:
    1. You need 8 states to be on the 2nd ballot
    2. If you were pledged to support one of the remaining candidates on the first ballot you must support them on the 2nd ballot

Nobody else deserves to be on the ballot. All of the other candidates combined have less than half of the support of either Trump or Cruz. Both Trump and Cruz deserve the delegates they've earned thus far to remain loyal for a 2nd ballot. Anything less would clearly be undermining the will of the people.

I want trump to win the GOP nomination because obviously Liberals know he's the easiest to beat in the general election.

I just want trump to be bleeding, limping and beat up badly by his own party before they grudgingly give him the nomination. So the less likely he is to win on the first ballot...the better.

I'm really looking forward to the potential of a contested convention. I want the RNC to have nothing but turmoil when giving trump the nomination.

Its definitely becoming increasingly unlikely. He could potentially do it but his campaign is not on the trajectory it needs to achieve it....in fact, the opposite. trump seems to be trending down...almost like he's peaked. The polls coming out for NY have him winning but with less of a margin than the week before last. Clearly, his antics are starting to catch up with him.

I just really hope there's a contested convention because it will be sooooo much fun to watch.

I love watching the GOP flail and I'm hoping that the convention will be the point it implodes.

lol...I'm a Sander's supporter...I donate money to him every single week.

But if I have to choose between a Democrat and a republican....very easy choice for me.

I would never pick an establishment pig con artist racist like trump....that's for damned sure.

I actually think trump is going to be close enough to the required number of delegates that the GOP isn't going to be able to take the nomination away from him. That's what I'm hoping for. The worst possible outcome for the GOP. A s**t-smeared, stinky, damaged, pig of a candidate that they're forced to nominate...namely trump the racist.

What we will be interesting is that if the trump campaign continues as its going and realizes at some point that they aren't going to clearly get the nomination...I'm going to be fascinated to see the spew they start flinging on the news networks. I anticipate his crew of neo-nazi dittoheads will start basically making veiled threats about riots and fracturing of the party....or threatening an independent run by trump....stuff like that. It will be AWESOME!

But forcing the GOP to have to concede the nomination to trump will be the best outcome for the Democrats.

I also wonder if the GOP will continue to attack him (NeverTrump movement) AFTER the nomination. I have a feeling, its going to continue.

If trump wins the nomination, this is going to be the best election in history...the RNC is going to be in complete tatters after this is over regardless.

    Lovin' It!!!

lol...actually...exactly what I predicted would happen has come true.

In fact, a lot of Liberals predicted the outcome that's becoming increasingly likely.

trump is a gift. For years, the GOP has pandered to racist, xenophobic extremists...and now they have a moron to lead them right over the cliff. Its pure karma.

What I like the most is the GOP burning through their own money and burning their own party to try to stop the pig they created. They are literally handing the Democrats the White House and Supreme Court.

And if Clinton is the nominee, she would have been easily beatable with any decent moderate candidate. So when the GOP loses, its just going to be that much funnier.

Have you not been paying attention? Dem turnout is way down. I guess picking between a communist and a criminal is not that easy. Hillary is an awful candidate which is why she is struggling against a 74 year old angry white guy.

That's because most Democrats like both of their candidates...so their primary isn't the s**t show that the GOP primary is.

That's another reason why trump being the nominee would be purrrrfect because I guarantee you that turnout from the Democrats for the general will be very, very high.

    lol...the GOP is soooo screwed.

He may still pull it off, but it is humorous to see him criticize Romney for losing the presidential race while he's struggling to even win his party's candidacy.

The GOP Convention in Cleveland will make Thunderdome in Mad Max-2....

look like the Harvard Debating Society.

    :)

I just wonder if the networks should slap a "TV-14" on it....them Trumpsters can get violent, you know? Especially if Donald's Nomination is "stolen" from him and given to Cruz.
