    And your at this time trying to go aginst those laws and say they are wrong. But so far what your trying to do is going to fail because they have never passed a retroactive gun ban. I know a fool of a State Rep in Iowa called for one Jan 9, and got no where fast.

    If you think you and the rest of the Libs are going to take our weapons, have the government pay for your medical care, housing, food, veh., fuel, cradle to grave coverage, well, Friend, that's the Lib utopia and you libs have already started it. Hopefully there are still enough of us to stop it before it gets out of hand and we all wind up in Government work camps.

    Seriously johnny, you need to go back to civics class. Our rights are defined by the constitution, and all laws are beholden to the constitution.

    A guy buys into the conspiracy theories of the government buying up ammunition to shoot them all and they still call him a fool. Will none of them stand proud behind their conspiracy theories?

    Which is it? Is Obama planning to kill you creeps with drones or a billion rounds of soft point and hollow point ammo?

    And you think that if he is or becomes so inclined he will limit himself to one or the other precisely why?

    Are you blind or just stupid??? I poined out that the Home Land security force is buying more Ammunition than our military would use in 20 years of war and asked WHY?? Do you have an answer or just stupid remarks??? There is no question about ARE they buying large amounts of ammunition, the question is, " what are you going to do with it"? Do you have an answer or nothing but more smart remarks?? The fact that it's hollow point and soft point mean it isn't for the military so where does that leave you?? Just give a reasonable answer for once in your life.

    Sorry no. http://jonathanturley.org/2011/01/10/gao-u-s-has-fired-250000-rounds-for-every-insurgent-killed/

    GAO says we are currently expending nearly 1.8 billion rounds a year in small arms ammo. A lot of that is in training, One should keep in mind that the SAW (Squad Automatic Weapon) fires the same round as the M-16 but fires them at a far higher rate. Mechanized infantry have one saw persix guys marines hae one per for guys but marines have much larger squads than does mechanized infantry.

    That is the military, not DHS and I would love to see that link to the GAO because it sounds like BS.

    Ummm, I anwserd your question. If you're not aware that we came real close to having Iraq slip thru our fingers, due to the massive counter insurgency, you haven't paid much attention.

    No one is mounting up any massive effort to "take" weapons. Even so, the mindset of the nation is changing as we speak.

    Those who might resist change now, will eventually die-off and a newer generation will take its place. I imagine we'll always value self-defense in America... but some of the insane notions we see propagated over firearms today, will fade incrementally as we move toward the future.

    Do people realistically believe that their weapons are going to be phsyically taken from them? Or is the prospect of having to jump through certain legal hoops to obtain these weapons that big of a deal to them?

    I have never owned a weapon, nor do I really see myself ever owning one, so I can't necessarily relate to the feeling that gun-owners have. If I were to ask one question though it would be whether or not a majority of gun owners have found themselves in situations where they feel the need to use their weapons, or if they would just like to have the opportunity to defend themselves?

    The Army still use the M240 machine gun which is the 7.62 X 51 round. Now Johnny, I know that you really don't know your weapons or calibers but that's means they are using a .308. Some do use the M249 machine gun which does fire the .556 round. Once again since you don't know the meaning of the terms that's a hopped upp .22. What in the heck do youm think the .223 means?? A .220 Swift and a .22-250 both use a 5.56 caliber slug as well as a .22 long rifle.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_crew-served_weapons_of_the_U.S._Armed_Forces
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M240_machine_gun

    And here are a few of the other weapons used by our forces;

    http://www.americanspecialops.com/special-ops-weapons/

    So, now show me in the Geneva Convention where our troops can use hollow point ammunition against enemy forces. If you would ever bother looking you will find that it goes against every law out there concering warfare. Any nation can only use Ball ammunition, Johnny. You know, that's something that's called a full metal jacket. So, once more, why is Home Land Security buying over 1 billion rounds of hollow point and soft point ammunition??? Oh, I guess I had better explain what a soft point is. The slug has the lead point showing so it mushrooms better;

    Stop being a pretend know-it-all. One does NOT need to know every particular of a given weapon, to have a grasp of what certain TYPES of weapons are capable of.

    I'm not "qualified" on every firearm or weapon system... but I've seen what many can surely do.

    Bottom line with me... I'm not supporting any opinion or politician which suggests that the status quo is 'okay'. That will NOT get my vote.

    The SAW is the M-249 not the M-240. And this is the frst I've heard of hollow points so I'll need a bit more confirmation than your say so, been.

    Johnny so your not okay with a 15 year decline in homicide, mostly due the increasing presence of concealed and carry permit holders in the US?

    {{{""The SAW is the M-249 not the M-240.""}}

    Really??? Please explain;

    {{{"""And this is the frst I've heard of hollow points so I'll need a bit more confirmation than your say so"""}}}

    Is this enough or do I need to post more???

    http://www.humanevents.com/2013/02/...d-with-enough-ammo-for-24-year-long-iraq-war/

    To provide some perspective, experts estimate that at the peak of the Iraq war American troops were firing around 5.5 million rounds per month. At that rate, DHS is armed now for a 24-year Iraq war.
