Now you admit the bible has been misinterpreted. Or more specifically, people misinterpreted what Jesus said. So how many misinterpretations of what Jesus said or what is written is there?

Seems no one really knows what scientific theology really is.

Within Hindu philosophy, there is a solid and ancient tradition of philosophical speculation on the nature of the universe,

Unless your hindu. Hmm, I didn't know you were teaching us about hindu.

God of Abraham gets challenged because of the many interpretations as to the intent. And if he really is the creator or one of the other Gods in humanity and humans existence.

Very good question. The primary/main purpose of the Bible is its message about salvation, and that is its primary sphere of authority. It is a sufficient guide an instructional book that tells us how we might be given eternal life with God.

A belief that heaven or an afterlife awaits us is a "fairy story" for people afraid of death, Stephen Hawking has said. (Post by WanRen)

What's wrong with a man having an opinion? (Post by Akhlut in response to WanRen's post above)
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That is all it is...an opinion, an opinion that is utterly useless I might add and so that's what's wrong with stephen's opinion.

Unless stephen has insight to 100% of all knowledge which I highly doubt that he has, his opinion again is utterly useless when speaking in terms beyond the grave!

So, are you claiming that you are omniscient then? Because what you just said seems to apply to you, as well.

Of course it should be remembered that Biblical science is mainly a reiteration of what was already known by other early civilisations, particularly the Egyptians.

This is how corrupt S. Hawking science is if the brain is a computer then like the computer someone has to put them together to program it to make it functional. He implies that the brain computer created itself??? (Post by WanRen)

The body created the brain, yes, as a part of development as a result of numerous genes controlling for the formation and structure of the brain. And, by looking at animals that are more or less derived from the most recent common ancestor of all animals with nervous tissue, we see a clear progression from neural nets to encephalization and the consequent enlargement and novel development of brain structures in mammals. (Post by Akhlut in response to WanRen's post above)
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First off we know that a computer does not create itself, it took the ability of humans to create and make functional a computer.

Just like the creation of a computer, it took a being to create the first entire human body. The human body just didn't pop itself into being without a mind and then progressively created a mind to go along with its body...lol

This is like saying the computer created itself which we know is false.

But then someone might ask, "Well then who created God?"...here comes the mind boggling part... the answer is no one created God for He had no beginning or has no end, He is the Eternal One, the Creator of the universe and everything else that exists!

Now wrap your finite minds around that concept!

You have avoided the great question of this century, which asks how come Jesus, 32AD, duplicated exactly the visit of The Elijah in 800BC unless he was Elijah, returned as the Jews had expected??????

Was Christ the Elijah, returned in 32AD?

They both did the same miracles, which was traditional supposed to identify Elijah when would come back.

Both Elijah and Jesus raised the dead

Both Elijah and Jesus were immortal.

Both Elijah and Jesus disappeared into heaven from the foot of a mountain.

Both Elijah and Jesus ascended into Heaven before witnesses.

    Both Elijah and Jesus"troubled Israel."

Both Elijah and Jesus were hunted down by the Jewish authorities.

Both Elijah and Jesus hid in a cave/tomb.

Both Elijah and Jesus pondered in the wilderness 40 days.

Both Elijah and Jesus walked across water.

Both wrote letters to people on Earth after they had ascended.

Both appointed a successor, Elisha by Elijah, and Peter, by Christ.

Both were hunted by the Jewish authorities

Both gave a successor the power to raise the dead

Both gave a successor a symbolic authority, the cloak to one, the keys to the other.

Both asked that they be released from the job, that this "cup" be taken from them somehow.

Both are said to have had miraculous births.

Both multiplied the meal for many people they feed in the crowd

Both destroyed the pagan worshippers and priests, one Baal, the other, the Pantheon of Rome.

Both were promised faithfulness three times, Elisha in the former and Peter, in the latter.

Then look for the deeper message. There probably was NO Abraham.. He was likely a literary device.

Did any other civilization mention Pangea?????

There WAS one ocean, once, where all the waters had been collected together around Pangaea.

Gen. 1:9 And (Father Nature, the first cause), God, said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, (Panthalassa), and let (Pangea/Rodinia), the dry land appear: (composed of the Seven Large Tectonic Plates):

    3. South American Plate,
    4. African Plate,
    5. Eurasian Plate,
    6. Anartic Plate,
    7. Australian Plate),...

    ...and it was so.

It says that the prophet who speaks the truth will not die... which Jesus did not:

20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.

Elijah and Jesus did not die.
    Mohammed did, tho.

Firstly....I am unaware of such data existing in any version of the Bible(s), perhaps you could provide verification.

Secondly...one would hope you are aware that the names you are referring to are recently created manmade words to explain scientific theory, and obviously could not have existed in biblical times.

That's probably why they all did die, whereas Jesus and Elijah have not.

    ?
The words are modern terms for ancient events.
Its is merely a matter of comprehensive reading to see that when "ALL the waters under HEAVEN were collected into ONE place, TOGETHER" what we now call the Panthalassic Ocean formed:

I am well versed and accept geological theory, as well as the concepts of tectonic shift and the idea of a global ocean 200 million years ago. I was clearly stating that you are simply trying to justify your books based on current understanding by making things up. It is likely you would also call me out for doing the same in opposition to these stories...as an example:

It is obvious that Mary was having an affair with the guy in the next village, and was such a good actress that she convinced Joseph she was still a virgin and got knocked up by the new Zeus.

Try particularly the Babylonian creation myth. then Egyptian creation myth and other early myths.
    http://biologos.org/blog/genesis-1-and-a-babylonian-creation-story

These all have early ideas of how the world came into being but the Babylonian has a greater similarity to the Genesis record.

Sounds like the same claim a jewish or muslim person would say.
So, that means all have the same God.
