Lying about the virus not being contagious when they knew it was, all the while buying global medical supplies. It's at least as good of a case as the Russia hoax investigation.

Bill Gates is invested in China and doesn't like criticism of them.

I'm not a fan of how Billl Gates openly dismissed China's dishonesty or errors. That was too swift. He should have acknowledged them and discussed strategies to avoid these issues in the future.

Of course we know Trump colluded with Russia and the Ukraine.

They lied to WHO and everyone else. They silenced and eliminated people revealing info they didn’t want out. And it’s becoming more and more obvious WHO and it’s leadership are being complicit covering for them. They can’t be trusted any more than China can. And considering China’s long history of abuse, apathy and lies in how they deal with the world, the world has to start cutting them off to teach them they can’t abuse the rest of us the way they abuse their own people.

This doesn't make any sense to me at all.

Deflecting to moan about China is just plain stupid. AND, it is a distraction from what WE need to do both now and through the future REGARDLESS of the source of any new pathogen.

Gates focused on what we CAN do.

That single decision deserves serious respect.

And his organization deserves serious respect for the knowledge and experience gained in working to solve communicable disease.

This is deflection and more moaning.

We made WAY more mistakes than they made. We're STILL making stupid decisions uninformed by medical science. And, we're taking NO action to protect ourselves against future pandemic - which we COULD be taking right now by fixing our federal response instead of continuing to allow our federal level failure.

You are short sighted. I have frequently mentioned my general support for Bill Gates and vaccine/medication development but that does not make Gates infallible. I also frequently mention Trump's mistakes handling COVID-19, but that does not leave China off the hook...

We made more mistakes? Have you been paying attention to the science and medical literature?

You should try basing your opinions on facts and evidence instead of the made-up **** in your book. Loosen the tinfoil.

I've appreciated many of your posts, but this one - no way.

I'm really tired of this whining about what China may or may not have done 6 months ago. WE are the ones who are screwing up, allowing America to be in the state we're in today. This is a USA problem, NOT a China problem.

Gates DOES have experience with fighting communicable disease. THAT is what he brings to the table. And, he focused his remarks exactly on what he is most able to contribute.

Why would ANYONE want him to waste time yacking about what China may or may not have done 6 months ago?

Yes. And, the best that Blix could offer when Trump was talking about lights down the throad and injections of household disenfectants was to suggest that they work outside the body!!! And, we're losing experts to Trump firing them for stating medical science. We're not hearing from medical science.

But, that's not the only area in which we have been making serious mistakes. We have little testing ability. Our reporting of cases is crap (with FL saying it won't even report, and no standards for what others do report), we still haven't solved our PPE problem. Trump created a plan for opening our economy, but ignores it - strongly advocating that we take action that is counter to that plan and failing to work to provide the needed elements, our various trillion dollar aid packages are being horribly mismanaged, our OSHA/CDC direction on employee safety is being ignored. ... anyone on this board could go on and on. We're still losing medical staff - dying for us by becoming infected while not having adequate PPE.

I know that many are trying. But, we are NOT succeeding at anything at the federal level - which includes those things that states can not do.

As a result, we're seeing the projected case and death counts soar - even as per the administration!

And Trump now says we can REDUCE the federal level effort at communication and coordination!

Here's the deal on N95 mask production.

HHS asked for bids on making these masks at high speed.

A major company responded with a bid for making a machine that could do that and costing within the government's $5M budget.

That was for a machine that could make 1.5 million masks PER DAY.

That was in 2018 and was how the issue of our national repository for masks was to be resolved.

Trump canceled that. Other HHS expenditures during the time of our current COVID19 problem have included more than that spent on smallpox vaccines - but, there has been no smallpox in the world for years.

One link to a significant part of that:

Because their inaction has ****ed over the world. Which terrible state is that? The one where the vast majority of people dying are elderly or have pre conditions? We need to develop major heard immunitY. You being sick of hearing about China doesn’t matter. They purposely let it out of their country and are in bed with the organization who’s sole purpose is alerting us.
There was nothing that can be done to protect us against a virus we have no vaccine for. The bigger question is where the reaL origin of this thing came from. Wet markets or a Chinese lab. Either one is China’s fault for being filthy, disgusting immoral scum who have no concern for life. Millions dying is a bonus for them. They want less people. If they could mass murder 1/2 their population and get away with it, they would do it. This could easily have been a plan all along. Get rid of their aging population. What better a way to do it?

The point is that Gates was right on target.

And, accusing HIM of anything related to not talking about China's acts 6 months ago are TOTALLY political and equally uncalled for.

Oh, please. You clearly have no interest in where this virus came from. If you were, then you would look up what experts are saying about that.

You're all accusation and no evidence.

Our problem is OUR response. And, trying to blame China for that is just plain detremental to OUR health, as OUR health depends on what WE do.

Show me what your experts have said about its origin. Let me guess? US Military like China was accusing us of? Or will you deny you heard about that gem?

Wrong. I'm taking from a place of science and healthcare. Your claim is false. We can still criticize those we admire and generally trust. I love what Gates is doing to develop a vaccine and fund research but he is wrong here.

You seem unable to differentiate between facts and evidence and pure propaganda.

I'm more than willing to listen to facts and evidence. Your fringe conspiracy theory is the propaganda. Return to the world of facts, if you truly want to pretend to care about them.

Propaganda is the tool of the state and other special interests. Woodrow Wilson understood that a century ago when he hired Edward Bernays.

    Someday you might catch up.

I'm inquisitive, academic, well experienced, and a natural skeptic. My engineering training tells me why it's not a controlled demolition.

How many posts before you actually talk about any kind of facts or evidence that back up your conspiracy accusations instead of spreading propaganda while accusing those who actually care about evidence of propaganda? I'll give you three more.

Good. Let's see how inquisitive and academic you really are. Heinz Pommer is a German nuclear physicist who never payed any attention to 911 until just recently. I'm betting you are not quite as inquisitive as you claim, and hoping I'm wrong in that analysis. Good luck.
