There is no excuse for abandoning the air base, the military leaving before the civilians are evacuated or leaving billions of dollars worth of equipment to our enemy. All of that happened while Biden was president, not while Trump was president.

 

My late father was a blank check Democrat who lived in Delaware and loved Joe Biden. My dad got some exercise holding “Re-elect Joe Biden” signs, so thanks, Joe, for giving him something to do in his retirement years.

Other than that, I cannot think of anything good to say about the man. I think he despises the American people and treats them with contempt. His energy policies have made life hard for many Americans. His spending policies are irresponsible. His open border policies proves that he cares more about illegal aliens than American citizens because they will be far more likely to vote Democrat in the future. His foreign policy is based upon weakness and poor planing. He values the feelings and “rights” of sexually deviant people over the welfare of young children. He has weaponized the Justice Department and FBI for the Democrat Party. His family stinks of corruption, and he has slow walked any investigations which might have cleared his name, leaving the impression that the allegations are true. He is mentally impaired and unfit for office and yet is running for a second term.

The only good thing about Joe Biden is that he might be out of office as of January 20, 2025. Until then, I don’t expect any improvements.

 

What do I like about Joe Biden? -- I like the way he tries to moon walk like Michael Jackson.

 

He might walk better if he did.

 

To Ukraine? Who the hell is even suggesting that? And please don't link to the badly edited video that we all know you are about to link to. Everyone with two brain cells to rub together knows that edited video is a lie.

 

Overall, he's fine. Definitely preferable to the last guy. I hope to God that the next election isn't another Biden vs Trump, but I'd vote for Biden this time if that were the case instead of voting third party again.

 

Always a choice between the lesser of two evils. Maybe both the Dems and Repubs want it that way.

 

I agree, and that's why I voted third party last time (and the two times before). You can even find me saying on the forum that I don't blame anyone for voting for Trump if they see him as the lesser of two evils. But Trump's actions trying to overturn the election and the fact that he remained a leader of the party despite those attempts where what tipped the scales for me. I'm not crazy about Biden, but he didn't try to install himself as an unelected autocrat like Trump did. It would take a minor miracle to find a greater evil than Trump for the next election, though I'd probably vote for a moderate Republican . . . if they can make it past the primaries.

 

I like that I don’t wake up in a new world, of his creation, every day.

 

I would definitely prefer DeSantis over Trump, but then there are negatives even associated with him. As bad as Trump's personality might be I'm able to look past character flaws to scrutinize the policy positions of the man. There's nothing I see positive in Biden's policies.

 

I'm sure I can find two or three things positive about Trump's policies if I spend a weekend on it (on the very rare occasion that he actually has policies in the first place). But I can't overlook the fact that he and his followers are the biggest threat to democracy that our country is currently facing. I used to say he was the biggest said threat but not an existential threat. He proved me wrong on that.

 

Democracy was never threatened by a bunch of ragtag rioters. The election process was just postponed and that's all it ever was going to be.

 

That is true. Even now as Biden tracks a little toward the middle, it is only temporary for the 2024 presidential campaign.

In 2020 Biden sat in his basement and gave signals that he would be "a moderate." Even now and then, if you listened, he made statements like, "I'll be the most progressive president in history." That was when people should have been listening, but they didn't. The vote was much more anti-Trump than pro Joe Biden.

 

He's preparing for another run at the office. One where he has to claim he's a moderate to get elected and then once elected prove it was a lie. It's classical Obama, but without Obama's intelligence.

 

Trump should have shut his mouth and strategized for 2024. Instead he held that stupid rally. There was nothing Pence could have done. He was nothing more than a clerk whose duty it was to certify the vote of the Electoral College.

I just finished a book about Abraham Lincoln, And There Was Light, by Jon Meacham. In 1861, vice president John Breckenridge was asked to do the same thing that Trump asked of Pence. Breckenridge swallowed hard and did his duty. He confirmed the Lincoln election as president.

Trump's conduct after the election cost the support of my wife and I. We are both opposed to him running again. He has too big of an ego, however, to do what's right for the country. He'd rather rip it to pieces than man up and be a true patriot. Trump is unelectable.

The only good thing about Joe Biden is that he's not Donald Trump.

There's no denying that Trump is his own worse enemy. I'm torn about potentially having to vote for him -- I very much prefer anyone other than him at this point -- but if it comes down to Trump or some democrat in the mold of a Biden I will swallow the bad taste and vote for Trump.

 

I'm not talking about the rioters. I'm talking about the fake elector scheme, the Eastman memo, Trump pressuring local officials to overturn results, etc.

 

Unfortunately, I am in the same position. The Trump cult within the Republican primary electorate will hand the nomination to him.

 

Politics as usual. Politicians will do anything to win an election.

 

No politician in the past has ever engaged in these tactics. Ever. And they clearly violate both the Constitution and the ECA. There's a reason why it took someone as corrupt as Trump to take things this far. Not even the Clintons were willing to resort to this level of anti-Constitutional corruption.

 

I'm hoping not. It appears at this point that that will happen, but Desantis has not thrown his hat into the game. That might be the game changer.
