To answer the thread question, I would say I like Biden because of his experience, and he is a decent human being.

If you think the withdrawal from Afghanistan could have been much worse, what is it you think Biden did to give us the smooth, orderly disengagement we all saw?

 

Trump was out of office for six months before Biden cowardly turned tail like a scalded dog and ran away from Afghanistan while arming the Taliban. Trump was long gone.

 

What I like about Biden:

You needn't worry. He is not running yet but building up his PAC fund.
When he is charged with a crime, of which he is guilty, in court then he'll be running to a ship outside US territorial waters paid for by his bankruptcy proof PAC fund.

The only way the Afghanistan withdrawl could have been worse is we didn't withdrawl. I suspect the Biden admin was trying to find any way to stay right up until the last minute and that's why it was so FUBARed. But we'll never know, and we DID leave, so credit to Biden.

Moving certain critical manufacturing, like microchips, back to the US was a good move too. Its too bad it was a tiny part of a massive pork bill, but so is everything these days.

That's literally it. Everything else has been a disaster. ...and the 'repubs' havn't done F-all to try to stop it.

He made a disastrous withdraw that was not planned out or warranted.... and now he has just walked us right back into another war we will be in "how ever long it takes". Why do the Republicans have to keep cleaning up Democrats messes... And please remember if WWIII starts, we will be fighting an unwinnable war against Russia AND China, plus who ever gets in with them..

perhaps you can provide a few historical examples of such 'smooth orderly disengagements" after a defeat? the british evacuation of afghanistan was a massacre. the russians sustained heavy losses. napoleon or hitler leaving russia? both lost thousands. dunkirk? baatan? even the yankee withdrawal after reconstruction left such unpleasantry as the lincoln county war, hatfield vs mccoy, the guerilla gangs, and "bloody tangipahoa. "

if you can't see how it could have been worse you have deficient imagination an d knowledge of history and zero experience in combat.

biden did not increase bombing, shoot missiles, renege on the agreement, order a "surge" or any of the perfidious acts of which only really dishonorable scum are capable amidst a military defeat.

 

So then, you got nothing. That's what I thought, it don't get much worse than planes taking off with people clinging to them.

I honestly have little sympathy for people clinging to planes. The withdrawal date was not a secret, it was established while T**** was still in office. I understand that some people didn't believe that the Afghan army would capitulate so fast but once T**** released 5000 Taliban soldiers and their leaders it was probably inevitable. Russia learned that and the British before them. I feel for the people suffering but only they can or even should change their government.

 

I like the way he has exposed his party for what they really are, and it isn't pretty!

 

Any buffoon who removes the guys with guns (ie- shuttering Bagram) before getting the rest of the folks without guns out is simply an arse and deserves all the ridicule in the world. The fact that they left so much good military gear behind for the Taliban to use or sell simply deserve to be struck down from heaven with a bolt of lightning.
