‘Kraken’ attorney Sidney Powell struck a surprise deal with Georgia state prosecutors on Thursday and agreed to plea guilty in the sprawling RICO case.

Powell agreed to plead out one day before her trial, alongside Ken Chesebro, was set to begin in Fulton County Superior Court.

Powell agreed at the hearing to plead guilty to six counts of conspiracy to commit interference with the performance of election duties. The penalty includes six years probation, a recorded proffer interview with prosecutors, a commitment to testify about her actions in future trials, and a $6,000 fine.

I imagine this plea will affect her standing as an attorney. More to the point, it shows how much evidence Fani Willis has on the folks the grand jury indicted. Our system of justice is working despite Trump's constant attempts to compromise it.

Remember, these are just trumped up charges that will never stand up in court.

That's why the lawyers of these defendants are allowing them to plead guilty to violations of non existent laws.

Curious if there are any restrictions on her law license being on probation?

Actually it shows how weak the Prosecutions case is that in order to get a plea they had to give her zero jail time and a fine she can pay out of the lose change in her pocket lint,

Lol congrats you got her to plead guilty to misdemeanors for downloading data off of voting machines. Which I’m sure she probably did. Weird how the prosecution was okay with that since their racketeering case is so solid lol

I’ll respond on behalf of MAGA’s; “She hasn’t done anything wrong!”

Given that her charges are about downloading data from voting machines I’m guessing not lol. Her probation will have something to do with not partaking in the official election process outside of voting.

Talking Points memo seems to have modified the charges in their report. Shocker. The actual charge was she pleaded guilty to six misdemeanor counts of conspiracy to commit intentional interference with performance of election duties. Meaning, she had the audacity to obtain evidence that supported her client.. https://www.ajc.com/politics/breaki...eal-in-trump-case/YQ4T2FIHLNB2RAANDGMWBCMQNM/

Once again, Talkingpointsmemo promotes disinformation and a lie to make the charges sounds so much more ominous that what was actually plead to. This is the charge.
Intentional Interference With Performance of Election Duties. Any person who intentionally interferes with, hinders, or delays or attempts to interfere with, hinder, or delay any other person in the performance of any act or duty authorized or imposed by this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.

The horror... She wasn't the person who did the actual interference, but she was linked to it, so it's a conspiracy... Only democrats think like this.

If she had so "much evidence" she wouldn't be letting the ring-leaders off with probation for trying to overturn an election. The deal was given for headlines, not for justice. This makes it so that Powell effectively has no punishment. She would have spent more than $6K defending herself even if she was innocent. The political process is the punishment.

There were 19 defendants. That makes a case unwieldly. In cases like this it's always preferential to get guilty pleas from those lower on the ladder and get them to testify against the higher ups. Their case against Trump is solid, this just makes it easier.

Wowzer. You get a gold star for combining deflection with an attempt to dismiss the significance of the intent of the conspiracy she was involved with.
"Meaning, she had the audacity to obtain evidence that supported her client" Actually, meaning she broke the law in a failed attempt to prove the Big Lie.

Lol, buddy, pal, she obtained NO evidence. Your favorite lunatic LITERALLY relied on spiritual revelations from a woman who claimed that she was a decapitated time traveler. Lol. Please tell me you didn't buy that.

They are going after the big fish, so the main price from her guilty plea if the upcoming proffer interview with prosecutors, and the commitment to testify about her actions in future trials.

I'm surprised she caved given how irrational she normally is. I'm even more surprised by the desperate copium on the right in dealing with this.

Sidney Powell did the right thing in pleading guilty for her crime brought against her. You have to wonder how many will follow suit. Trump won't follow suit. I think he's rather be found guilty than plead guilty.

I suspect the most important part of this deal is her agreement to testify.

LOL.. So shallow... One hopes you don't drown yourself... You didn't address the assertion which was you using an obviously untruthful account you found on talking points memo.com. Why? The Atlanta Journal Constitution was too hard to actually read yourself? I mean, had you, you might have saved yourself the embarrassment for being a mouthpiece once again for folks you know are propagandists.

Please note Sidney Powell is the only one in the case that had a viable charge thrown against her tampering with Georgia voting machines.
