Maybe the quote of the week, from this well-known MAGA nut

    SNIP
"I rise not to defend George Santos, whoever he is," Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida said on the House floor on Thursday," but to defend the very precedent that my colleagues are willing to shatter."
    ENDSNIP

That's actually a pretty good burn, intended or not....

Something I didn't fully realize. MSNBC was just interviewing people walking by Santos's (former) office in NY.

    It's in Queens.

The name escapes me, but wasn't there another famous serial liar from Queens in recent memory??

If he were just thrown out for being a liar, then he would have lost both of the first two votes to remove him.

Large Marge certainly doesn't seem happy about it (unlike her usual bubbly self)

    SNIP
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) wrote on Friday that Santos’ expulsion was “shameful.”

“Republican voters want us to stop the communist Democrat’s agenda and hold Democrats accountable, NOT destroy our majority and do nothing to hold Democrats accountable,” she wrote on X, formerly Twitter. Greene also pointed out that the GOP’s now-even-slimmer, three-vote majority in the House may narrow even further in the coming months as rumors swirl that former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) may resign before the end of the year.

I've been reading about this Max Miller EMAIL this am.... seems he might have swayed a vote or two, even though it wasn't all that close in the end.

    SNIP
Rep. Max Miller (R-Ohio) sent an email to House Republicans revealing that he personally had been affected by Santos’ misconduct. “The Santos campaign had charged my personal credit card – and the personal card of my Mother — for contribution amounts that exceeded FEC limits,” Miller wrote. “I’ve seen a list of roughly 400 other people to whom the Santos campaign allegedly did this. I believe some other members of this conference might have had the same experience.”

What's the over/under (in hours) before Santos gets a fund raising email out there to fight his expulsion??

(Sheepies won't know there is no fighting this)

I literally laughed out loud at your response. I can't imagine either of them winning a speed contest.
I understand the need for fairness, a defendant to have time to mount a defense, and that there are a lot of time dragging methods, but the court system overall seems like it needs to be sped up. I think 6 months is long enough for any defense to get it together.

Santos would've been forced out long ago if he was a Democrat.

    Yes. It's the correct decision.
More criminals need to be held accountable also.

Nope but it does seem to do so elsewhere in the political spectrum. And since it may come up again in the near future.......

And the question is are you OK with that and elected officials.......I got your yes.

    Your comment makes no sense.
    AGAIN!
YES! Congress can expel you without you being criminally convicted.

    I'm asking YOUR opinion

So a congressional committee saying there were crimes committed is enough, there doesn't have to be a conviction of any kind?

Yes, one of the few times I've been pleasantly surprised by Congress.
