No idea but I'm sure if the voters knew what is now known, he would never have made it there and since quite a bit of his crimin' is due to the trappings of his office and his political fund, best to expel this POS and let the legal system sort it out while he still crimin'.

Historically, people with a moral compass would have stepped down and save the Congress having to act.

It's about time they got rid of that jerk for good. We can all say Good Riddance to George Santos.

Agree completely. Stealing the office from the voters is what's most important. Localities and states allow recall elections. Unfortunately, no such mechanism exists for the House.

Santos is a product of a systemic flaw. One which hopefully will be corrected by adequate vetting in the future, both by the parties and the media. Corruption can be found in many places, but Santos' activities are so egregious they cannot be tolerated with simple disciplinary action alone.

Romney was correct when he told Santos, "You don't belong here." The House agrees.

And is this unique to him or could this apply to others?

If that's the way things are supposed to work, nobody would have ever come up with the expulsion process....

Oh, clearly unique to George Santos.... nobody has ever been, or ever will be again, expelled by Congress...

That's why it's called the George Santos Expulsion Process.....

He's about to have his freedom expelled from him. I wonder how soon we see a deal. I think he gets time regardless. If he fights it like he says he's going to do, he's going away for some time.

The expulsion process is not the way things are supposed to work in my view. He wasn't thrown out because he was unable to do the job. He was thrown out for being a liar. Politicians everywhere are mostly liars. I don't want him in congress either but I'm not a voter in New York's third district so it isn't any of my business.

I don't know. I just know a bunch of liars expelled another liar for lying. He should be expelled by the voters.

They obviously thought, in the situation, with the ethics report that was issued, there was sufficient cause to remove him.

I think if you read the full ethics report, you'll find he was expelled for being much more than a run-of-the-mill Congressional liar...

He was not removed “for being a liar”.
He was removed because they believed he committed crimes. Real crimes.

No. He was expelled for fraud.

In one instance, Santos allegedly used $50,000 in campaign funds to pay off his own personal debt; make a purchase at Hermes, a luxury apparel store; make smaller purchases on OnlyFans, Sephora and for meals and parking.

I would prefer to have the court decide first, and then expulsion, but can't argue with results. Santos was not deserving of one more paycheck from the taxpayers.

Well, in the age old contest to see which is slower, the US Justice System or the US Congressional System, chalk another loss up to the US Justice System....

2 D's voted NOT to expel... veddy interesting... I'd like to hear their rationales....

    SNIP
Two Democrats — Reps. Nikema Williams of Georgia and Bobby Scott of Virginia — voted against expulsion as well, while Democratic Reps. Al Green of Texas and Jonathan Jackson of Illinois both voted present.

Cause "this place" was a cash cow for you and yours.

"Why would I want to stay here? To hell with this place," Santos told reporters following the vote.

How will Santos now pay for his legal defense for upcoming Sept.2024 trial?

Obviously not since the house had the power to boot him.
This may make other lying scammers think twice and also change the vetting process or lack there of of future candidates by their political party.

Does "yes" mean something else in Alabama?

I don't believe a congressional committee even has to say crimes were committed in order to expel, but it sure moved things along here, didn't it?

Most of the well-known MAGA faction voted against expulsion. I can't say I am surprised. Comer voted for expulsion.

    GoTitheMe?

    :roflol::roflol:

Actually, I'm stunned somebody in MAGA hasn't tried that.... 10% of somebody's earnings (times a million sheep) would add up quickly...
