The fact is no one cares what Russia is. It's ugly big rude country and people simply don't deal with it.

That's a very rude way of asking questions. Russians really need to learn an etiquette of English language otherwise Russians look so impolite. I've had conversations with some Russians on this forum and I'm sad to see how far from being civilized this people are :(

If you want to ask something you have to say it the right way - "I would like to ask you ..." If you say - "I want to know" it means you are demanding something and it is the rude way of asking questions.

English is not your native language, that much is obvious. Somehow, I suspect, you were born in Russia or one of the republics... am I right?

You're full of cr*p, MaxRiga - this is the most eloquent way I can express myself. Russia is a wonderful, beautiful, rich in history and tradition country, respected by most and held in awe by the World. So, you "had conversations with some Russians on this forum and I'm sad to see how far from being civilized this people are"? What are you, a learned man? Educate yourself in the basics of English language before posting sh*t, will yea?

    What crap...:puke:

Well appeasement didn't succeed as a policy. So something different will be tried...unless the Monster is reelected.

They die young, mainly through excess alcohol consumption.

    Their population is rapidly declining.

They pine for the 'good old days' of Stalin and his murderous henchmen, even though they slaughtered millions of innocent people.

It had some wonderful clalssical music compsers e.g. Tchaikovsky, Borodin, Rimsky-Korsakov etc etc.

It had some great writers eg Tolstoy,Alexander Pushkin,Dostoevsky etc etc.

It had some wonderful ballet dancers. Who can forget the wonderful, exhilarating dancing of Rudolf Nureyev (but he had to leave Russia)?

But what have they got now, apart from an bundance of natural resources and a thug (ex KGB) waiting to take over the reigns of power?

Baltic savages talking about "far from being civilized" is just too much fun for this sub-forum.
Not sure if true. It always was about realpolitic.

MaxRiga I understand your desire to be the teacher of silly savages. But I would like to recommend you to learn something too. For example would you like to be so kind to learn to make your opinion basing on facts instead of your complexes of the offended person. Deign please to be so kind.
By the way FROM THE USSR learned German. He has started to learn English independently without a teacher at this forum only. But I am sure having such wonderful teacher like you are, he'll reach excellent results.

This is just the example of Latvian hatred to Russians, nothing more. Latvians always were very nationalist, even in the days of the USSR. In 60s years my mother stayed in Riga she couldn't buy a jacket in shop, the seller has refused to sell because my mother was Russian. This is the diagnosis. All that they can is hatred. So I am not surprised with his posts.

For Russia it was all about Realpolitik. But it wasn't for Obama. Obama was a fool to enter into the New START Treaty. America gained nothing by doing so. His objective in entering into the treaty was to try to reset relations with Russia in an attempt to gain Russian cooperation on Iran.

Obama was a fool. Medvedev pocketed Obama's treaty obligations, and went ahead with Russia's alliance with the Islamic Republic of Iran. Now Medvedev is threatening to withdraw from the treaty.

There will never again be a disarmament treaty between America and Russia. That's realpolitik.

I'm not sure if this is true either.
    It didn't lose much too.
Nope. That was an attempt do decrease spending on missiles' maintance. We didn't gain much from it.

Alternative reality is funny...Alliance with Iran? Oh, please.

What about not-deploying of anti-missile defense in Europe to avoid it?
    Ok.

We perceive the world differently. What you see as just business is so deadly that we have to perceive you as Iran's enablers. Iran is now preparing to establish military bases in Venezuela. What do you think they will use those bases for? Ballistic missiles any one?

If you want America to refrain from developing missile defenses in Europe what are you willing to give us in exchange? There must be a quid pro quo.

You aren't interested in disarmament? Have you heard about Prompt Global Strike? What would you think about Poland becoming a nuclear weapons state?

When Iran acquires nukes, the NPT is over.

Sounds like Balts, Poles, Romanians, and Ukrainians have reason to acquire nuclear weapons. Once Iran goes nuclear everything becomes possible.

If Russia wants to avoid European missile defenses it must offer something to America of equal value in a bargained for exchange. Nothing is for free.
