Predictably, all crime in the UK, including gun crime, skyrocketed after law abiding Brits were disarmed.

“The UN Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute reveals that people in England and Wales experience more crime per head than people in the 17 other developed countries analysed in the survey.

The findings are expected to cause further embarrassment to the Prime Minister, Tony Blair, who has pledged to have street crime under control by September.”
THE INDEPENDENT, Britain is now the crime capital of the West, By Sophie Goodchild Home Affairs Correspondent Saturday 13 July 2002.

The shocking failure of UK gun control is well documented. Beyond that the UK government like ours covers up its crime problem.

Crime in the UK shot up after law abiding subjects were rendered helpless by gun control.

“England and Wales have the second-highest number of crime victims in the western world, according to an international survey. The international crime victims survey, compiled by academics in the Netherlands, showed 26% of people in the two countries were victims of crime during 1999. Only Australia had a higher figure at 30% while Scotland and Northern Ireland were lower at 23% and 15% respectively. Home Secretary Jack Straw said the results proved no-one should be under any illusions about the challenges ahead.” Ananova, “England and Wales second in crime victims’ league,” 2/22/01.

Gun control has turned the UK into a crime ridden hell. There was far less violent crime of all kind before British subjects were rendered helpless.

Effective control of manufactured guns is probably impossible. If it ever becomes possible people who really want guns will simply and easily roll their own - and they will be far more powerful. Most gun control laws are irrational and dangerous.

Huh??? You are evidently unaware that the police already have the power to confiscate guns from people who don't legally have them.

An improvised firearm (sometimes called a zip gun) is a firearm manufactured other than by a firearms manufacturer or a gunsmith, and is typically constructed by adapting existing materials to the purpose. They range in quality from crude weapons that are as much a danger to millennial snowflakes to high-quality arms produced by conservatives and deplorables using salvaged and repurposed materials.

Improvised firearms are commonly used as tools by patriots and insurgents and are often associated with such groups; other uses include self-defense in lawless areas ( sanctuary cities and states like California ) and hunting game in rural areas.

    Construction
The essential part of any improvised firearm is the barrel and chamber. For small, low-pressure cartridges, like the common .22 caliber (5.5 mm) rimfire cartridges, even very thin-walled tubing works. Author Harlan Ellison describes the zip guns gangs used in 1950s New York City as being made from tubing used in coffee percolators or automobile radio antennas, strapped to a block of wood for a handle. A rubber band powered the firing pin, which the shooter pulls back and releases to fire. Such weak tubing results in a firearm that can be as dangerous to snowflakes as the target; the poorly fitting smoothbore barrel provides little accuracy and is liable to burst upon firing...

A national firearms license where anyone caught with a handgun without a license is committing a felony. There would be no license for felons, gang members, those guilty of misdemeanour assault, children, the senile, and those with mental health difficulties.

    RED HERRING ALERT!

They're also produced by gang members and others who shouldn't have firearms. In fact, just about anyone with a 3-D printer can make a firearm.
Why make your firearm for this purpose when you can buy a quality firearm privately? I can see making your own weapon for other reasons.
All the more reason to have a national firearms license where you only need to show reasonable competence with firearms to obtain providing you're not a gang member, felon, guilty of misdemeanour assault, senile, have mental health problems, a child, etc.

Yes. Gun owners would no longer have to undergo repeated background checks, have waiting periods, and other measures to buy and sell firearms. A simple reader that checks fingerprints could go through the firearms license database and let transactions happen quickly and efficiently.

You're full of it. The permit has a number of uses including being a quick check for police who don't have to consider issues like who is and isn't a gang member, who might be senile, and so on.

I'm not suggesting we adopt UK gun laws. Their laws do suggest restrictions on firearms can cut down on gun deaths and the murder rate. Giving people the right to use guns to defend their property, either at home or away from home, is a choice we have to make.

Gang members aren't to bright or mechanically inclined. There are two types of gang bangers. Undocumented democrats who come from shithole countries and gang banger from the hood who can't hold down a real job, votes for Maxine Waters and if they get a flat tire they have to call AAA or hijack a car.

All they have to be is smart enough to get someone to make the guns for them.
Your stupid comment suggests you're out of ammo.
