I agree, but the simple fact of the matter is that the reason crime and gangs are so prevalent in places like Chicago, Baltimore and Oakland is for two reasons.

1. There is no political will to actually hold criminals accountable
2. Criminals are not afraid of the consequences of committing crime

Stopping predators is why every law abiding citizen should carry a means of protecting themselves.

The police aren't the first responder in an attack: the victim is.

 

I can't disagree about at least two of the reasons. There are more.

That isn't going to happen. We have to deal effectively with the criminal element.

 

Sure, there are more, but crime is a risk-benefit analysis. Not well thought out, granted, criminals aren't the brightest.

It's already happening. There are double digit states where the law abiding just need the Constitution as their CCW, and going on 17 million of us in states that require licenses.
