BTW, Canada had a long gun registry they abandoned. There was a debate before they brought it in, while they had it, and when they got rid of it. But there hasn't been a call to bring it back.

The answer is a resounding YES, for all civilians who don’t have a legitimate reason to own one and then subject to strict safety controls for those who do. As to why, it should be is obvious but for those who have trouble understanding, any firearm is a lethal weapon, it serves no other purpose and is entirely a useless add on to everyday living as the majority of Americans know.

Hopefully there are signs of this farce is ending the crap that you have been fed by those whose only god is the dollar bill and have fought off even the minimal regulations on control for years because it may effect their profits. Read more carefully. I have cited many more recent articles, and every article showed crime and gun crime rising repeatedly long after strict gun control including a ban was imposed.

But that's racist. I would favor a federal crime with automatic 10 year sentence for anyone caught committing a crime with a firearm.

Exactly. Those criminals with guns have no fear of defense with a firearm from law abiding citizens. It's amazing to see the left pushing for gun control which only affects law abiding citizens and reduces their capacity for self defense. Criminals don't obtain firearms from sources who obey the law.

I have not been in the market. The fact it is illegal to make or use meth precludes me from seriously considering it. A conviction of those crimes would destroy my career and education options . There is a demographic in every community in this country for whom the distinction between legal conduct and illegal conduct matters a great deal. Might even save some lives.
