Absofuckingloutely. But equally true, a very intelligent, wise person, would not want to be in one without it.

    Of course.

But if someone comes at them with a gun.......ALL intelligent people prefer to have a gun.

I am suggesting that stealing is not a capital offence hence "self defense" isn't even relevant to the subject, except on Fantasy Island.

All that said.......getting back to the topic.........

You don't shoot at people for stealing tools.

    Wisdom dictates otherwise.

Keep your damned gun in your holster unless life is threatened.

    End of story.

Intelligent people would prefer the situation didn't arise. Unintelligent people think that more guns in more hands somehow makes the world a safer place.

What are the cops going to do when they show up other than point guns at them and order them to the ground?

    LOL!

If someone comes at you with a gun you will see that your world is a safer place if you have a gun and know how to use it.

Come on......wake up and smell the coffee. Do you want to live?

You know it's funny. I am over seventy years old and nobody has ever come at me with a gun. I am probably too old to start being stupid and paranoid although who knows, when total senility sets in I may buy the NRA, gun lobby sponsored paranoia.

I'm 72 and I have carried a gun most of my life and do now (Glock 30 now, just an excellent small pistol).

Never had a problem, but the odds are increasing that I may have occasion to use it.

I'm not paranoid, just cautious. I feel more secure knowing that I have a chance if the worst happens.

    Just being practical.

Sure it is. Armed robbery, after the fact is not a capital offense, unless the offender offed the victim. A home invasion, after the fact, is not a capital offense, unless one of the residents was killed by the offender. BUT, DURING the crime it absolutely justifies the use of deadly force to stop it, because none of us has a know the future machine. Some dude kicks in my door at 0300 and I have the absolute legal (at least in my State) to waste him with no questions asked. Sadly, that is not true of all States. Our citizens are left vulnerable because of that.

So let me get this straight. For almost 72 years you have carried a gun for absolutly no reason and yet you still haven't learned. Hopefully you are still carrying your tiger repellent , and what are you doing about the sky falling.

No, for my adult life I have carried a gun and having it on my hip is a comfort........especially now that I'm fairly elderly and vulnerable.

Why do you ridicule me with tigers and falling sky?

I'm practical.......and happy. Why do you have a problem with that?

If ignorance is bliss then tis folly to be wise. Be happy my friend but don't try to promulgate ignorance.

There are many like me and we are not ignorant.

You can call it unwise if you wish.

    Your bad.

You're comparing that to your money or your life type behaviors eh?

Maybe you ought to read the OP ..... ONE MORE TIME. Where do you see anything resembling your fantasy?

My "money or my life"? I am telling you that in all of my unarmed civilian experiences where I was threatened with a gun ..... I walked out of it without a scratch. Now, we are talking about theft where there is no gun in the hand of the thief. Read the OP ONE MORE TIME.

Clearly, you want to protect criminals. Maybe because you are one yourself. I do not. Get offed in the commission of a violent crime and I have NO sympathy.

Don't let them get away. Use the coach gun even after they got the railroad money and are trying to split.

The chances of it happening are remarkably low. I’m a white male, over the age of 30, married, and financially middle class. Those combined factors place me as one of the least likely people in America to be robbed on the street.

Assuming it does one day happen, statistics say I am better off complying with an attackers demands. I carry no cash, so there would be no immediate loss. I can cancel cards and get a new copy of my drivers license. Even assuming they took my phone and watch, not much use to them as I can brick them once I get home, the most I could lose is $1,000. That’s chump change compared to my life.

I’ve got a better chance of getting hit by a bus than getting killed in an armed robbery on the street.

    I like my chances.

Assuming the criminals haven’t committed any acts of violence in the commission of their crime, police would more likely use non-leathal force such as a taser or baton.

    Yeah, that's it. Clearly.
Yes, we are devoted to the H.A.T. code.
Of course. We "off" people just for looking in our general direction. My suggestion is that if you don't want to risk getting "offed" you should invest in a surplus, Sherman tank. But don't tell my fellow criminals I "clued you in" or they might see fit to "off" me.

    Any further questions?
