    And I say good riddance.

I have absolutely no sympathy for someone that uses their color as a shield and a sword for their own political gain.

Calling President Trump a racist.......yeah.....have a nice dirt nap.

I it is always sad when somebody dies. It seems the old democrats are dying more and more. That will open the door for the far left socialist to take over the democrat party

The AOC wing is sadly becoming a reality. If she can get primaried out, early, there is still hope.

John Lewis started like a young boxer swinging away for integration and winning some bouts. Sadly after we achieved integration, like an old boxer he kept getting back in the ring and swinging away at straw men. He became a foolish man but he never knew it because the MSM kept him in the ring and told him he was winning every round. As for his funeral -- stand by for a media blitz.

Yep, three black men who became millionaires with their race baiting rhetoric as the media slobbered over them.

Racists are entitles to spew their hatred, as well, I suppose.

President Donald Trump: "Saddened to hear the news of civil rights hero John Lewis passing. Melania and I send our prayers to he and his family."

Former President Barack Obama: "I first met John when I was in law school, and I told him then that he was one of my heroes. Years later, when I was elected a U.S. Senator, I told him that I stood on his shoulders."

"Not many of us get to live to see our own legacy play out in such a meaningful, remarkable way. John Lewis did. And thanks to him, we now all have our marching orders — to keep believing in the possibility of remaking this country we love until it lives up to its full promise."

Former President George Bush: "As a young man marching for equality in Selma, Alabama, John answered brutal violence with courageous hope. And throughout his career as a civil rights leader and public servant, he worked to make our country a more perfect union. America can best honor John's memory by continuing his journey toward liberty and justice for all."

Former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton: "We have lost a giant. John Lewis gave all he had to redeem America’s unmet promise of equality and justice for all, and to create a place for us to build a more perfect union together."

"Always true to his word, his faith, and his principles, John Lewis became the conscience of the nation."

Former President Jimmy Carter: "Everything he did, he did in a spirit of love. All Americans, regardless of race or religion, owe John Lewis a debt of gratitude."

Vice President Mike Pence: "Congressman John Lewis was a great man whose courage and decades of public service changed America forever, and he will be deeply missed. John Lewis will be remembered as a giant of the civil rights movement whose selflessness and conviction rendered our nation into a more perfect union and his example will inspire generations of Americans."

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden: "We are made in the image of God, and then there is John Lewis. He was truly one-of-a-kind, a moral compass who always knew where to point us and which direction to march. To John’s family, friends, staff, and constituents, Jill and I send you our love and prayers."

Lewis: "I know racism when I see it. I know racism when I feel it. And at the highest level of government, there's no room for racism. It sows the seeds of violence and destroys the hopes and dreams of people. The world is watching. They are shocked and dismayed because it seems we have lost our way as a nation, as a proud and great people."

The U.S. House of Representatives voted to condemn the racist language from President Donald Trump to which John Lewis had alluded.

Yeah, what is it about Washington that sucks all the good will and good intentions out of anyone who gets elected? Everyone eventually turns into a hack.

I think maybe they don't actually have good intentions, but just have varying degrees of skill at faking it until they gain enough notoriety among the other back-scratchers that they no longer have to try very hard once they 'make it.' They accomplish just enough good to get into the circles they need access to to become entrenched parasites and then hello easy life sucking off taxpayers.

Or, just as likely, they start with good intentions, but being flawed humans, are susceptible to making small mistakes that the people that I described in the first paragraph are really good at exploiting. Like, 'nope that staffer wasn't quite 18 even though she looked 20, but if you sign this bill, no one will know. And then 'well sign this bill too, or we'll tell everyone about how you were compromised on the last one.' Before you know it, they're on TV telling everyone we need to nuke Russia in the 5 minutes they've been sober over the last week.

Power corrupts, not because of itself inherently, but because of how corrupt those that seek it already tend to be.

I don't blame you for being mad at and hating John Lewis. After all Lewis had the audacity to tell the truth. That obviously really hurt Trump cult followers. Trump Cult followers are like radical Muslims. Radical Muslims go berserk when someone tells the truth about Mo, Mamad this is.

Trump cultists and radical Muslims are like brothers is madness.

He was a POS. I'm just one of the few with balls enough to say it how it is. Funny, @Moi621 has bigger balls than a lot of those who are actually supposed to have them anatomically.

John McCain was a POS too, just for other reasons. These are the types of men that are a cancer on the country.

I agree that no one should use their color as a shield and a sword for their own political gain. So what was this horrible racist thing that John Lewis said was it this " segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segragation foreever"?

Lewis also called John McCain a racist in 2008.

Civil rights icon and Georgia congressman John Lewis is accusing John McCain and Sarah Palin of stoking hate, likening the atmosphere at Republican campaign events to those featuring George Wallace, the segregationist former governor of Alabama and presidential candidate. McCain's campaign has responded with a statement in the candidate's name, urging Barack Obama to repudiate Lewis's comments.

"What I am seeing reminds me too much of another destructive period in American history," Lewis said in a statement issued today for Politico's Arena forum. "Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin are sowing the seeds of hatred and division, and there is no need for this hostility in our political discourse."

Lewis didn't accuse McCain of imitating Wallace, but suggested there were similarities.

"George Wallace never threw a bomb," Lewis noted. "He never fired a gun, but he created the climate and the conditions that encouraged vicious attacks against innocent Americans who were simply trying to exercise their constitutional rights. Because of this atmosphere of hate, four little girls were killed on Sunday morning when a church was bombed in Birmingham, Alabama." (1)

If you were a Republican, especially if you were running for president or especially if you became the president (as in Trump's case), you were a racist who wanted to kill black people, according to Lewis. Unfortunately, Trump could not speak the truth about Lewis, because of politics. Such is life. But I am not running for public office, and so I can speak the truth. And the truth is that Lewis was pure human garbage, and the word is better off with him being dispatched from it.

He was a race hustler and a race pimp who rivaled the likes of Al Sharpton.

I saw a reporter interviewing a black man and the reporter said, "Now that John Lewis is gone who will carry on the cause?" I guess there will always be someone of color in a high position to stir up other people of color and tell them they are being disrespected and offended by whites. That's a shameful cause. Lewis was like the labor unions -- needed for a good cause and succeeded but later found it in his personal best interest to keep demanding.

Lewis was a hack once he went to Congress. He himself was elected to Congress, and served with a black president elected twice, yet he continued to claim the country that was paying him a nice annual salary for years and years was racist. Such a fake. He sold his integrity for personal gain. It's time for blacks to stop campaigning for equal treatment.

"It's time for Blacks to stop campaigning for equal treatment". OK.
How about Whites give up their privilege first? Then Blacks wouldn't have to campaign for equal treatment.

    See how that works?
