No big deal from what I've read... Nothing specific. (some secret, TSSCI, sensitive) Twenty boxes in all.

Trump's legal team argues he had declassified before leaving the WH.

We'll see where that argument goes.

 

We need to see the affidavit. Otherwise, this seems to be just more crap the Biden administration is throwing at the wall, hoping it sticks.
What was released was extremely vague.

 

There has to be a record of the president declassifying something.

He can't just decide it's unclassified without there being a record of it being declassified.

Plus it would be a crime for him to remove official docs even if they had been declassified.

 

And from what I've read, they didn't document the declassifications.

 

The Trump legal team and Trump responds to the above: They're leaking files and innuendo. Trump said it was all declassified and locked up per the FBI's request. The whole raid was unnecessary. They could have had all this information long ago but they waited. All they had to was ask.

They did ask. The NA asked for over a year. And then there was a subpoena in June that Trump ignored. No one is actually dumb enough to buy the "all they had to do was ask" brainfart.

Yes he can. The process of declassifying documents applies to others. In fact I think it's the POTUS who dictates the process to others.

"All they had to do was ask" is fake news. And the FBI is also to be presumed innocent. Hell, they haven't even charged them. Meanwhile, not even Trump denies he still had these documents, and he's offered no legal defense for holding them.

 

The government has to be notified that they have been declassified. There has to be a record of the declassification.

This is basic stuff.
