As BBC is reporting,(on TV) investigations are taking place to do "forensics" on fragments etc..to determine the weapon involved, and who/ where it may have come from.

In the "fog" of emotional reactions, many assumptions are being made from images and audio material.
Truth is one of the first casualties of any war. So science has to play a big part in clarifying all this.
The loss of humanity in such numbers in a hospital is as tragic as it gets.

in that open area, as there very well might have been what with people fleeing to points of perceived safety, then just about any munition with a substantial warhead could have done this damage. No secondary explosions were necessary to create the high casualty figure. Noting lots of cars parked in that area, it is entirely possible that the secondary explosions were the gas tanks of those cars cooking off. Even in this picture, I count at least 16 cars(granted that this picture appears to be a stock photo taken well before this explosion).

The US National Security Council has determined that Israel is “not responsible” for the hospital blast in Gaza.

“While we continue to collect information, our current assessment, based on analysis of overhead imagery, intercepts and open source information, is that Israel is not responsible for the explosion at the hospital in Gaza yesterday,” NSC Spokesperson Adrienne Watson said Wednesday.

“Based on the information we have seen today, it appears as a result of an errant rocket fired by a terrorist group in Gaza,” President Joe Biden said in Israel.

Hamas didn't release it. Every major military, including the US, have signals intelligence entities whose function is to intercept enemy communication across many different signal channels. Israel is claiming they intercepted this audio.

Israel is also not blaming Hamas directly. They claim this was fired Palestinian Islamic Jihad which is a terrorist subgroup in Gaza.

An explosion at the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza City on Tuesday killed hundreds of people, according to Gaza’s health ministry.

Palestinian officials say an Israeli strike caused the blast, while Israeli military say it was caused by a failed rocket launch by militant group Islamic Jihad.

Bellingcat was able to identify what appears to be the impact crater, after analysing footage and images of the aftermath. We believe this crater to be an important piece of information about the attack, what follows is preliminary analysis of the crater.

One video, filmed in the aftermath of the blast and posted on Instagram on Wednesday, does show an impact crater. The apparent impact crater is located at these coordinates: 31.504890, 34.461640.

Other images from the parking lot of the hospital show widespread damage to vehicles in the parking lot, including one that was flipped over onto its roof. Another vehicle nearby shows signs of extensive damage, while others show evidence that they were engulfed in flames.

The ground surrounding one side of the crater shows a cone of scarring and pitting, consistent with the explosion of a munition at this site. Objects within this cone appear to have suffered extensive damage, including a fence which was largely destroyed by the explosion.

As noted by Marc Garlasco, a Military Advisor at PAX for Peace’s Protection of Civilians team, the impact point does not appear to be consistent with the 500, 1000 or 2000-pound bombs used in Joint Direct Attack Munitions (JDAMs).

Yea, the jihadists torpedoed their own hospital. Accident, or in propose? Israelis say it was a failed rocker launch, and it sounds believable + they have evidence.

 

That blast zone is way to small to be a JDAM. I'm having serious doubts about 500 people getting killed.
