Police chief confirms 1 person killed in shooting at Super Bowl rally​

Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves confirmed that at least one person was killed in a shooting at the end of a celebration after the Chiefs won the Super Bowl.

Graves said the shooting happened on the west side of Union Station. When officers got there, they took two people into custody and immediately started helping people who were hurt.

Officials don't know exactly how many people were wounded, but it "could be upwards from 10 to 15," Graves said. She also said she did not yet have more information about the condition of victims.

She said she does not believe any of the victims were children.

"I am angry at what happened today. The people who came to this celebration should expect a safe environment," the police chief said.

Another day, another mass shooting. This was in red Kansas, so I have to wonder where the good guys with guns were. Guess we just don't have enough guns in the hands of ordinary citizens yet, eh.

Kansas City is in Missouri. Yes, there is a Kansas City Kansas, but the Kansas City that everyone thinks of is in Missouri.

Yeap done a lot of work up that way and the city is blue and going downhill. That being said, they did have a heavy police force and the locals took the gun away from the perp, tackled him and waited on the police. Looking forward to seeing what all this was about and this perp getting the death penalty.

 

Police spokesman reported over 800 uniformed and armed officers were at the event, whoch probably kept the numbers from being higher but couldn't prevent it.

If this is anything like the Milwaukee Bucks championship shooting, it will be yet another "diversity is our strength" mass shooting. I imagine that they will become a mandatory part of every NFL/NBA championship in the very near future. If it isn't a "diversity is our strength" mass shooting, I think my pattern recognition software needs tweaking.

It was a parade with thousands of people, so when good guys or bad guys with guns open fire, some people are going to get hit. ​

We all also knew that the shooter would obviously have more than a dozen felonies on his record. Why are you pretending that you did not know? It's not the gun, it's who has the gun and the below chart from the CDC points out which folks shouldn't have guns. The kind people who are most likely to kill someone in our country make up less than 1% your population. Boost that up to 13% and let us know what happens.
