many democrats are worried about being called "racist" if they push for harsher sentences on black thugs. This was the case when the NRA and the GOP pushed for programs such as "Project exile" which involved FELONS (white black or other) who are caught with firearms (in violation of state and 18 USC 922 federal law) being prosecuted by the office of the US Attorney where federal sentences are usually much more severe than what the county district attorney can dish out in state court. Leftwing organs such as the ACLU and NAACP complained that this program was sending lots of black felons to jail-ignoring the fact that armed black felons are most likely to kill, or rob other blacks.

This fear of being called "racist" and upsetting a major Democrat Party constituency was one of the main reasons for modern Democrat pushes for gun control. If you don't go after actual criminals, you can pretend you are doing something about violent crime by pretending that gun control will remedy such criminal activity. It doesn't but then again it doesn't cause it's proponents of being called "racist" by some on the left

 

Why are folks with weapons allowed at these events to begin with?? From what has been said, they had prepared quite well , and yet the preparations did not PREVENT this incident , did it?? Why?? Becasue , unless people are actually checked for weapons........no amount of officials will stop the idiots from shooting.

People use the constitution and their RIGHTS to defend their gun ownership...and usage. How does this incident fit under that rationale??
If people just HAVE to own weapons, fine......but keep them at home under lock and key. The "good" guy vs "bad buys" mentality is far too simplistic for something this serious.

Gun violence is a scourge in this country , and is bringing disgrace to it .

Nothing will change. WE will hear the usual platitudes, and then the news cycle will move on to the next talking point.

Maybe that is what needs to happen, and it will cost.

Block off these events by a mile, and the only people allowed into that square mile are those who have gone through a metal detection device/intensive security checks. Keep the the bloody guns out, no matter what the cost or inconvenience! What price human life?

And in the UK where guns are largely banned, leftists are now screaming about the epidemic of knife crime. It is the knives out there murdering people. God forbid the people using those knives be imprisoned, no not that! We must ban knifes, and then bats, etc..... Keep banning inanimate objects, that will solve the problem. We all know that predators become peaceful members of society when their preferred murder weapons are illegal.

Funny, bringing black people and everything they do or don’t do also seems to be the status quo, especially here in this forum. Same with trans people for some reason.

As of right now there are 23 people who were shot. When that many bullets fly then I'm guessing this was gang related.

 

And that makes it okay, just like it is somehow an apology/explanation to the shot that the shooter had black skin?

 

Did you ever think that everything black is being shoved down our throats? They just did the black national anthem, blacks are waaaay over represented in commercials, blm did their thing, Netflix, Disney, Biden picked his VP because she was black, Newsom did the same thing, this is black history month, CRT, reparations, etc. You guys only want to talk about black when it's convenient for you and don't want to look at what you don't want to look at.

There have been hundreds of mass shootings in this country in the last year and a bunch of them were not gang related, there was one in New York a few weeks ago. This is not that much different bro

This is only Texas and has other ligations but if you look at this citizens without guns are four times more likely to stop a shooter
