Zelenskyy: Ukraine is kept (by the West) in artificial deficits of weapons

This weekend, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has delivered a remarkable speech at the Munich Security Conference; see the full text of the speech on the official website of the President of Ukraine.

First of all, Zelenskyy instructed the conference participants in detail what they must do. In my opinion, Zelenskyy was speaking to them like a boss who speaks to his subordinates.

During his speech, Zelenskyy fourteen times used words which mean necessity, e.g. “must”, “should”, “have to”, “need to”.

Zelenskyy also many times used imperative sentences (see below):

Not exactly a remarkable speech either.

 

True, the West has been a day late and dollar short on everything Ukraine has asked for.

Also true, Ukraine owes its ability to keep fighting effectively on those supplies.

Also true, there’s zero reason not to keep supplying them against the Russian fascist wannabe conquerors.

 

Trumpers love Putin because he hates gays. That’s why they don’t want to support Ukraine.

I'm sorry, I missed the memo where that's our problem. See, I don't speak Ukrainian or Russian, I speak English. I want my government to spend on my country and our collective national issues.

 

Opposing Russian aggression is in America’s interest.

International law& order is an international issue, including yours. Particularly in relation to Russia.

 

The funny thing is many Americans always were isolationist, are isolationist and always will be isolationist. They really have not much idea of what lies outside their county, city, state, let alone the rest of the world. I'm basing this on having worked extensively in a county that voted 77% Trump. They are actually nice people - but so insular.

 

Zelensky is just another leader padding his wealth with so-called aid money being sent by the United States. He is barely a better man than Putin.

Yes, there are isolationist Americans. We had them in 1914, we had them in 1939 and we have them today. But I assure you , there are more of us, who are not isolationist. America will be there for the world just like America was there in 1914 , 1940 and other regions such as Bosnia, Somalia, Kuwait.

 

Ukraine is neither a US State or a protectorate, hell due to the war it's not a part of the 'precious' NATO alliance. It's not 'isolationism', the US hasn't had a single foreign policy win in over 60 years. WW2 became the Cold War, which transitioned into the War on Terror and just when you finally thought we got things under control, Europe again.
