Yeah man, I'm with you to a point. I know a lot of guys that served, sought help for the baggage that came back, and lost one of the rights they swore to protect. I can see both sides of that and there's no easy answers.
It should be about whether he actually did it or not. The question will be asked if he bought the gun legally. But so far, there is no evidence of a hate crime much like there is no evidence of a hate crime in Detroit where Samantha Woll was killed. They have a person of interest in custody AGAIN, charged, identified, etc, but still no evidence of a hate crime. Looks more like a robbery gone bad type of thing. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/man-charged-murder-death-detroit-synagogue-leader-rcna124908
We have a whole lot more waiting to do. https://vtdigger.org/2023/12/13/att...an-descent-in-burlington-drop-bail-challenge/ March 8th now...
Right now, the suspect is charged with three attempted murder charges. That is it. Even in his interviews with police, the suspect has not said a word about the reason why he did it specifically. Second, sitting in the county lockup until March 8 does not do the suspect any favors other than three square meals a day and a cot to sleep in. But if you think this case would be dropped, you are greavely mistaken. He literally confessed to the crime when police were canvassing the area for video and witnesses.
I'm not aware of what he said in interviews with police. I'm not aware he confessed. I don't know his motive. That's it. I'm not sure where you got the idea the charges might be dropped.
In most cases with a firearm in homicides or attempted homicides, motive is never known. Just look at the Las Vegas Shooter from 2017 as a prime example. Or the Samantha Woll homicide in Detroit as another example where it was a domestic dispute that caused the death of the victim. So far, the suspect is charged with three counts of attempted homicide. By law, the prosecution just needs to place him there at the scene, he had the firearm, the firearm is linked to the bullets retrieved from surgery in one way or the other, and a few other items. The prosecution, if this goes to trial, will provide those facts and maybe not mention any type of motive. This may be a plea deal in the works given the March 8, 2024 date. So that is one possibility. If that happens, the suspect who does plead guilty may have to allocate to the crime in court. It will be up to him to say why he did it, but not necessarily so.
I don't disagree with you. I disagree with the assertion that this event is an attack against a specific region of people.
Huh, turns out the shooter supported Hamas. The Greatest Islamophobia Hoax in America Exposed Eaton had been described as “that hippie guy” and “progressive”, an organic farmer who had posted a meme with a definition of “Amerika” that called it “the worst sense of the United States, ie imperialism, corruption and the global exportation of American culture.” He appeared to be a Biden supporter Media outlets, anti-Israel activists and politicians attributed the shootings to the Hamas war. Everyone from Biden and Kamala on down emphasized the “Palestinian” identities of those shot and implied that Eaton had attacked them because he was opposed to the ‘Palestinian’ cause. In reality, Eaton supported Hamas. On December 6, Seven Days, a local news outlet known for breaking stories about local politics, revealed that Eaton had tweeted, “the notion that Hamas is ‘evil’ for defending their state from occupation is absurd. They are owed a state. Pay up.” Responding to an article about a proposed ceasefire, he wrote, “What if someone occupied your country? Wouldn’t you fight them?”
