Absolutely correct. I do not drink much too. For me vodka is just the medicine for chill and a way quickly to be warmed in a winter evening. I prefer grape wine or beer in a small quantity.
Most Russian men that travel abroad much are saying that Russian women are the most beutiful in the world. Why is it so? Most Russian women are very (so to say) female. They are not eager to replace men in men's social niche. Their main goal is not a caree, but to be sexy girls, then beloved wifes, then kind-hearted grannies. They like to be courted, they like when men turn necks to gaze at her with admiration. They often keep on a diet not to get fat. They like cosmetics and know much about the skill of proper using it. They wear high heels and miniskirts when possible. Feminism is not spread in Russia. A "feminist" word is an ironicaly denouncing term in Russia. And they are naturally beutiful. My favourite men's magazine "MAXIM" openly speaks out against putinizm (July issue) and it is Russia's most popular men's magazine. Other guys from Russia may probably have a different opinion on your question.
But still you find much more women in management positions in Russia than in Germany. The same goes to women in management in Turkey. Western women try so hard and some of them get angry for not having the same rights, women in Russia and Turkey simply make career without complaining about equality all day. Now, this is the way they go, staying female and be successful at the same time.
Really? I know lots of people who like Russians. But some are still prejudiced - it's caused by the WW II and then Communism. The late president of Poland Lech Kaczynski was totally against Russia (and so is his crazy twin brother now - he thinks that Putin and Polish PM Donald Tusk are responsible for the plane crash in Smolensk). But the new president said that is going to strenghten the relationship between our countries - and I hope he'll manage to do this ( ;
When I was younger, we learnt Russian in school, but when we were in Poland it was said, we don't have to try talking Russian, we won't get answers in Russian anyway. It was said, Polish people simply don't like to talk Russian. Later we had Russian people working in our company, and they said, it does not make much sense, not because people don't want to speak Russian, but because Polish and Russian are really very different languages.
What I do know what is going on in Moscow right now is there's smog in the air that is killing 700 people a day.
This is true. Too many differences. Russian people can understand what people said the Pole, if the proposals would not be too compound. With great difficulty, but can understand. He can catch the meaning. A similar situation with the Serbian language. It is much easier with the Ukrainian language. Although the majority of Russian think the Ukrainian language is very amusing. Because some of the expressions in the Ukrainian language reminiscent of cuss words in Russian. The word "dragonfly" in Ukrainian will sound like: "Залупiвка". However, for the Russian people, the word "Залупiвка"(Zalupivka) in tune with the word "Залупа" (Zalupa). This designation of the glans penis. Such examples are many.
Yes, Ukraine, this is a slightly different alphabet, but even I can read Ukrainian text without having learned the language. It's more like a dialect, which has been made artificial different fro Russian language. We don't have cuss words in German language, we only have nice words
Unfortunally forest fire heavy smog really covers Moscow. It's a natural disaster caused by abnormal summer heat this year.
Features of ordinary Russian people Most of Russia's population has left political views. Russian people are sincere and open. Most Russian people in his life there hope for the case. Russian people do not feel the most intelligent, but the most spiritual in the world. Russian people are often (historically) were living in difficult circumstances. At all times, left its imprint on the life of a harsh climate. Perhaps that is why a simple Russian people are very well developed savvy, ability to go from the most difficult situations. For example, many even wealthy Russian themselves make repairs at his home, repair themselves a broken household appliances, car, etc. At the same time, Russian, is very uneconomical, regardless of their wealth. Unlike Europe, Russia, historically, that collectivism has a greater impact than individualism. Russian people like to take collective decisions to consult. With this many people sincerely believe that democracy does not suit Russia. Moscow - one of the most expensive and richest cities in the world. The literacy rate in Russia is 99%. There are about 3 million students and 567 higher education institutions (of which 48 universities).
Nevertheless only certified for insanity people can tolerate such Dictatorship like Putin's, sorry. Russia today is more lawless as most lawlessnesses Banana - Republics in Africa or South-America, any western company making business in Russia unrepairable destroy its reputation and automatically became a case for tax investigators, because everybody know, in Russia govern only Money, and any Western company must pay a lot of bribes to Russian "officials". Sorry, but I do not believe that Putin's Russia will exist longer as 2 or 3 years, it will be broken in many parts. The last scandalous case is Lukoil-Scandal: The Lukoil - Tycoon has killed two womans, but got no strafe,in contrast a opposite musician has been jailed. http://www.rferl.org/content/Russian_Musicians_Journalist_Angry_Over_Rappers_Arrest_/2120257.html
Listen you, boring one! If it is so then you should greet Putin all day long for destroying his state cause your only dream is Russia being broken and given under Western control! http://www.politicalforum.com/2735788-post4.html Stop contradicting yourself, you, two-faced liar.
Ostap! I beg your pardon! Russia had existed before your birth more than 1000 years. It exists now and will exist for a long time.
Ukrainian language is very strongly differs in the east of Ukraine and in the West. More to the east is closer to Russian, further to the West more Polish and especial Ukrainian words. Actually each Russian can easily understand Ukrainian speaking in east dialect without an interpreter. When I was the schoolboy I visited Ukrainian village in which was born and has grown my mother. I easily communicated with relatives and coevals though they spoke in Ukrainian and I spoke in Russian. Moreover in two weeks I began to notice that in my speech I use the Ukrainian words. These languages are very much close.
Granny says is the end times in Russia - dey all gonna die... Hundreds dead from heat, smog, wildfires in Moscow 9 Aug.`10 Deaths in Moscow have doubled to an average of 700 people a day as the Russian capital is engulfed by poisonous smog from wildfires and a sweltering heat wave, a top health official said Monday. See also: Radioactive risk warning as Russian fires out of control Tuesday 10th August, 2010 - Firefighters in Russia had yet to make headway against the worst wildfires in the country's history Tuesday despite international help, with more than 550 fires still burning, the Interfax news agency reported Tuesday.
Oh, this explains something I wondered about. I former colleague of mine went to Kiev to negotiations and she said, if they only speak Ukrainian, it can be kinda difficult. I was surprised, because she is native Russian speaker. Another former colleague comes from Zaporizhia region and he said, Ukrainian is rather easy to understand for Russian people. If Ukrainian in Zaporizhia and Ukrainian in Kiev is kinda different, this explains it.
Western Ukrainian dialect is very difficult. It is very difficult to understand without interpreter. Huzuls Western Ukrainian subethnos mountain-dwellers of Carpathian mountains speak in the mix of Ukrainian Moldavian and something else. Though sometimes it is possible to understand without an interpreter even the huzul. Two huzuls are going to drink. Мiкола банка е? Е. Пидемо. Mikola do you have something to drink? Yes. Let's go.
It's the same thing with German mountain areas. The closer you get there, the more difficult it becomes to understand them. Especially Bavarians ... they hardly understand each other, if they come from two villages with a hill between them
Russia is the biggest country in the world. its full of beautiful people and has wonderful scenery. the culture is really something different. the country is loaded with diversity and the women are gorgeous; ive never been but would love to go how about you tell us what Russia has :]
It's very difficult to say what Russia has cause the question is too wide. What spheres are you interested in?
Maybe the Human Rights in Russia? Here is a good source for knowledge about: http://www.theotherrussia.org/
I know that Russia has great culture. If you compare Russian art to Finland art it's shameful to Finland. But Russian politics are different there are lot of propaganda in Russia. Russian media like to distort things in Finland. I'm aware that Finland are almost unknown in Russia.
