I don't blame them. The war could blow up in many ways. Will they face antagonism wherever they go:

I read the entire article. Frightening. It could be a return to the iron curtain.

Of course it doesn’t. But the fact they refuse to even view the pictures because of their obvious fear of Putin means that the Russians are going to back him to the death. Because they fear what Putin will do to them FAR more than they fear the sanctions.

Fear doesn't make you fight for someone but rather against them. Why should I risk my life for someone willing to kill me? Putin is not going to last long IMO. Russia is nothing like the superpower that collapsed in 1989 and has never fully recovered. Russia is now a regional power at best and has nothing like the economic wherewithal it needs to withstand these kinds of worldwide sanctions.

I’ll bet you you’re wrong. I can tell you exactly how this will go down. Russia will take Ukraine, then take Moldova and then the rest of the non-nato Eastern European states and nato will do nothing to stop him other than what they’re doing in the Ukraine and then he will pause. He will redraw his borders and resupply. While he does, China will take Hong Kong and Taiwan with almost no resistance. And then, once Russia resupplies, Russia and China are going to team up for the nato states.

Watch what I say. Mark it down. Take a picture. Guaranteed. UNLESS Russia is stopped militarily by nato. Which isn’t going to happen because ALL of our leaders in the west are leftist, soft social justice warrior ******* who are terrified to fight.

I don't think there are any non-NATO Eastern European states left. All of them were incorporated into the NATO, some voluntarily, some were forced into it. Russians are not going to get involved in the western part of Ukraine - Lviv (stolen from the Poles) and the rest of the western part will be left alone. China is definitely going to take Hong Kong and Taiwan as well as the full control of the South China sea. Incidentally, soft social justice warriors can be quite brutal when dealing with their internal opposition. Try seriously challenging them and see what happens to you, your family and your livelihood.

These are all the European countries not in nato:
    • Andorra
    • Armenia
    • Austria
    • Azerbaijan
    • Belarus
    • Bosnia and Herzegovina
    • Cyprus
    • Finland
    • Ireland
    • Kosovo
    • Malta
    • Moldova
    • Monaco
    • Russia
    • San Marino
    • Serbia
    • Sweden
    • Switzerland
    • Ukraine
Now obviously he’s not going to take them all because he’s not going over to say Ireland and slap them around. However if you’re Sweden or Finland or Moldova or one of those types of states... I would suggest sending your troops to the Ukraine NOW.

As for brutal leftists. Yes they can be brutal but usually it’s only in the arena of politics and socialized issues.

I compare it to the difference in men and women. Women can be brutal too but most times that brutality manifests itself in destroying the social standing of the other person and telling lies about them and the like. Rarely does it devolve into physical confrontation. Whereas with men they’re much more likely to just punch you in the face.

The Libs are like women. They are brutal within the non-physical arena of politics. But Putin is like a man. He’s just going to punch them in the mouth and they’re not going to have an answer.

It’s already happened. Putin punched them in the mouth like a man by invading Ukraine. How did the west respond? Like a woman by using sanctions and not punching him back. You CANNOT defeat a bully by tattling which is essentially what we are doing. The ONLY thing that’s going to stop the bully is for you to stand up and whoop his ass

AU, I have to disagree here. Sorry, man. Look at what happened in D.C.. McConnell condemned Trump's role in the Capitol riot and then back-pedaled to suck up to him. Trump bashed Cruz's wife and threw out BS about his father-in-law and Cruz couldn't kiss up to him fast enough. Same with Merrick and all the rest. They know he's toxic but they don't want to be voted out because they know his supporters are willing to travel across the country, attack police officers and raise hell without even stopping to check if the info he's feeding them is real.

Trump has garnered all their support for no other reason than fear-mongering. He keeps them terrified "they" are going to take their country from them if they don't "fight like hell" and "trial by combat" and they need to believe in that because meeting the people in the "shadows" is harder than relinquishing one's personal responsibility to the guy that tells them he has just the fix they need. Sure, some of them may be faking it and ust going along to stay off his bad side but the rest can't imagine a world in which they have to stand on their own two feet and say aloud "this guy is toxic." It's easier to sit on the bandwagon and pretend to agree to have the acceptance and support of the others (who are probably doing the same thing). We see this pattern everywhere (ie. places of worship, within family hierarchies, in neighborhoods, in companies, etc.). Humans are pack animals. We need to "belong" even if belonging means never asking questions or disagreeing with whatever the "leader" says we should think.

The link you posted showed a diversity of opinions, from those who explicitly support or oppose Putin to those who do not want to share their views publicly. Fearing what an autocratic system will do to you is not the same thing as "backing" it. For all these people know, the journalist interviewing them might be from the FSB.

Well....there is a solution...stop the war, leave Ukraine altogether....LDPR,Crimea.....start reparations....hopefully Russkis can overthrow their clown Putler....because these sanctions that have just been applied....will only get worse!

Vladolf aspired the "good Ole days"....looks like he got his wish.....quite possible Russkis can envision reading, writing, sitting next to a coal oil lamp just like 100 yrs ago. All I can say is enjoy.

Too bad about the younger generation Russians ....it's their opinions and livelihoods that matter.....the older generation are stuck in their outdated beliefs and will be dead soon.

Perhaps those young Russkies don't want to live in a society where woke degenerates dictate the rules, where men aren't allowed to be men, where white men and Christians are constantly accused of being racists, maybe they hate open borders, perhaps they don't fancy their inner cities being infested with uncontrollable crime etc....If...maybe....perhaps....The time will tell.

People not wanting to spark a nuclear war has nothing to do with how left or right of center they may be politically.

Those young Russkis want to live life....not in some outdated ideology. I expect a mass exodus at some point.

No, they want to live in a society where they can freely express their views without facing a prison sentence that is usually used for murderers.

Can young Americans freely express their opinions on U.S social media without being cancelled? Can young Americans express their views and freely debate in U.S universities without being cancelled and harassed?

Being harassed for your views is one thing. Spending 15 years in Russian prison is another. ;)

LOL....whatever that means....but those leaving or looking for options want a future for them and their families....not leave in constant anxiety of some "tweet" they wrote and someone didn't like.

If I understood them well the new legislation applies only to those who side with their enemies. The western media declared information war on Russia. They responded accordingly...I assume if we declared the state of war, we could be also going to prison for spreading misinformation. If I remember well. Americans locked up the Japanese in interim camps just for being of the Japanese descent.

What if the enemies present the truth? Do you support Russian lie for the sake of opposing others, or are you interested in truth?

Russia is getting canceled. It is having such a PR disaster that it will take several generations for Russians to shake off this fascist stereotype they are earning themselves now.

You assume wrong. Also, assumption is not a fact.
You can get a 15 year prison sentence if you post on Russian social media “over 10,000 Russian troops died in Ukraine so far”. That’s a fact.
Your argument is not a fact.

That was almost a century ago. Today is 2022, not 1943! Even if one were to take your argument - when Japanese were interred in the US, a magnitude of orders more people in Russia were permanently enslaved and abused in Soviet gulags. So, even for the standard of that time, Americans did better. ;)

Wokeism doesn't let you live in constant anxiety. They simply cancel you, take away your livelihood and make sure you are blacklisted for as long as possible. Those woke ideologists go years back to find something incriminating so they get rid of you. An average American is powerless if for some reason they decide to go after him or her. Woke ideologist control the media, almost all of it. Where is the freedom of expression? If they don't like your opinion, they will completely deny you the access to it. If they feel you are a threat to them, they will cancel you and your family. Completely marginalized you. There has to be the better way forward.
