This is a thread about dress codes, I'm just showing you your past comments about dress codes and how it differs from your current comments on dress code. If you didn't type it, I wouldn't find it! :headbang:

Behavior isn't dress- but dress influences behavior. People don't act foolishly when dressed to formal standards unless they are drunk or doing drugs. Presenting yourself in a professional way sets a tone of civility, respect and order. Those things are critical to doing the job these people are there for.

These people hold important positions with important responsibilities. They are already acting like belligerent teens a good part of the time- and anything that lowers the standards of conduct lowers the
standards of their approach to their duty, the respect for their position and their peers and shows you and I they really don't respect us either.

The nation didn't get in this shitstorm because they were doing their job and demonstrating the right conduct for the nation. Anything that makes it worse is another step in the wrong direction.

    "Differs"? How?
Also, this isn't a general "thread about dress codes"...
THIS thread is strictly referring to the Dress Code in the Senate.
Besides, WHEN Did MTG ever violate a Dress Code?
No time that I know of.
Criticizing her "Fashion Choice" at the SOTU had absolutely nothing to do with a Dress Code...
My comment (which you dredged up from another ancient thread) which I posted 7 months ago had Absolutely NOTHING to do with a Dress Code...
Talk about an Epic FAIL of a Post...:bored: Wow...:smdh:

Doctors dressed like doctors kill more people than doctors dressed like chickens.

That's because there are no doctors dressed like chickens- but if yours showed up for your critical surgery like that, it would probably be reassuring to you since you know that.
Others, you know those serious people, might think differently.

How much does it matter? In some cases, not at all. Depends if you have anything to lose.

You obviously have never been in a corporate meeting. One's garb does not in any way dictate behavior.

Thankfully, the nation's lower chamber lives by a higher code of conduct: displaying ding-a-ling pics in public hearings.

The Senate no longer enforcing a dress code for Senators to appease Fetterman is disgraceful.
Dress code is one of society’s standards that set etiquette and respect for our institutions.
    Stop lowering the bar!

Oh? I'm the CEO of two corporations, my friend. One has worldwide operations, the other national. And I've founded 9 companies now. Just small ones.
I'll tell you for sure more than one person seeking our favor has lost the opportunity to join us because their dress and their attitudes were both unacceptable.
The idea that situations don't dictate dress is as faulty as thinking it doesn't dictate behavior.

Members of congress have a special kind of contract with the American people- and a great deal of duty. Anything short of professional in appearance, character, demeanor, and performance defines a person unfit for office.

The reason we have so much trash there now- is the standards requiring honorable conduct haven't been enforced but left to congress itself. They are given the power to clean their own house- but lack the courage to establish rule enforcement- because everybody cheats. Congress has expelled (fired) two of its own members in the last 156 years. They ignore the rules- this is just one more, where they tell themselves it won't make a difference.

Time to fix that. Doing so will change the nation.

Well hey there is a dress code to get in nightclubs and piss away your money on overpriced liquor drinks but at least you don't have to dress up to go into Congress.

I bet soon enough they will all start showing up chronically late and half-assing their jobs... Oh wait that's already the normal thing

Every person testifying against Trump is Republican, an ex-member of Trump's staff (hired by Trump - and he only hires the best) or from Trump's Cabinet.
Surprise - those who have worked with Trump realizing that Trump is unfit for office. But you'll bury your head and pretend it's all about the Democrats and
all Trump's Cabinet were secret Democrats. Whatever, dude. See that crap somewhere else.

    I feel your pain...
I'm the CEO of three corporations, my friend. Two have worldwide operations, the other national. And I've founded 19 companies now. Just medium-sized ones.
Anyway, on-topic, I support Schumer's decision to relax the Senate Dress Code...:flagus:

Hey! If women are not required to wear suits - why should men be required?
