    Take it up with the "progressive" *******s who indoctrinated this child and filled little head full of anxiety and fear, exploited her to push their own political agenda and then carried her on their triumphal procession to the UN where she was given an international platform to express her self-righteous hysteria to the entire world. Obviously, what the "progressive" *******s who exploited this child wanted was the most attention they could possibly get, and the "progressive" *******s in the international media who had been lionizing Miss Thunberg for quite some time were more than glad to accommodate them by splattering her rant at the UN across the entire planet.

    Yes, being critical of her rather than her comments is an attack. An ad-hominem is when you direct your comments towards a person rather than the person's argument. The outrage being expressed towards her making a speech seems to reflect a desire to shout down people like her. That seems to be a fear that she might be taken seriously. I did not cheer her comments, and I wouldn't have given them a second thought if not for so many on the Right making it a really big deal. She's young and will likely learn a lot about how the world works as she gets older, but the more people attack her, the more others will see her as Joan of Arc kind of character.

    There's no "rather than" about it, so repeating that bogus narrative is getting you nowhere.

    We all know what an ad hom is...

    And now we have a new dishonest narrative about a nonexistent outrage and nonexistent desire that no one has expressed towards her making a speech. The outrage that has been expressed has been directed towards the adults who have filled a child full of fear and anxiety and exploited her and her fear and anxiety to push a political agenda, but you have completely and conveniently overlooked that fact.

    Actually, you seem to be afraid that she won't be taken seriously, and the fears of those who are afraid she won't be taken seriously are entirely justified given her age, mental condition and hysterical claims and rhetoric.

    Sure....

    Too late.

    Leftists have viewed and held that child up as some sort of Savior figure for quite some time - that's how she got a platform to berate the world and the "evil" people living in it at the UN in the first place.

    While you're correct that she has a lot to learn about the world, not to mention her fellow human beings, she is not a victim in any way, shape or form. If you want to cry or complain about the criticism she has received that's your prerogative, but that still doesn't make her a victim.

    The Left is asking us to destroy civilization because a 16 yr old is having bad dreams, and you worry about her feelings. WTF. The fault lies not with those who are outraged, but by those not outraged by the appeal to emotion in the name of science by those who are irrational. To put it as explicitly and bluntly as possible: Who in the hell in their right mind wants to commit economic suicide because a teen girl can't sleep well at night? That's the frigging argument and it's frigging insane.

    In a sense, I agree. Attacks should be focused on the deceitful "adults" that put these ideas in her head and finance this emotional plea. I find every one of them completely despicable. At 16 years of age, children are to discover rational thinking and how to apply it to everyday life.....not to be used as a pawn for an emotional plea for rabid socialists! It is not the job of 16 year olds to lecture and tell adults how to behave. Perhaps that is the problem with the left. They have been listening to prepubescents for their decision making too long.

    From what I've read about her, she's got a mind of her own and a will that's not open to being used as a pawn by unscrupulous adults. She expressed her thoughts in a very emotional way, but she's entitled to those thoughts.
