I would just think of all who came before us who fought for this country, our Constitution, and our freedoms, and I would fight.

I would much rather die fighting than to live until heart disease, cancer, or dementia took me.

My goal would be to take out at least one enemy soldier before I died. If only one million of us did that, we would create a million enemy casualties.

I couldn’t care less about the red-blue divide in this country. Rather, I would fight and die for the right to be red, blue, or independent.

This would be an easy decision for me.

 

It would be very hard to happen to the United States as a whole yes. Alaska, Hawaii, sections of the mainland, it could definitely happen to.

 

Oh come ON, Who is going to successfully invade the USA even in those areas? Jeebus Willikers. In 1941 the Japanese tried to take Hawaii and we ended up dismantling their entire Asian Empire as well as dropping the only 2 atomic bombs ever actually used on them

 

We don't need to call every man and woman to service to defend Alaska and Hawaii.

The truth is that no other country can bring an invasion force big enough to defeat the US.

 

Because they are smaller chunks to defend is what I’m guessing you’re suggesting. You’re forgetting that Putin and China both have capabilities that they are not using. They could wipe out mainland bases in a large scale attack. Those losses if sever would have to be made back up somehow. I don’t think it would be near as easy as you think.

Someone who declares that they would never fight for America overseas, regardless of circumstances, cannot be trusted to fight IN America.

 

The poll reveals a very stark difference between Democrats and Republicans. I understand the whole anti-war thing a lot better now when the left won't even stand up and fight for their very own freedom. They would rather just leave and go somewhere else and they seem oblivious to the fact that their somewhere else might also eventually be a place they have to leave and that somewhere else's may run out at some point.

Its in the human genes to defend their families and homes, even if they say they are reluctant to fight for political causes overseas.

 

I’m not surprised. The schools, colleges, media all sing the virtues of “elsewhere” and run down the USA. We allow people to hop our border, and set up their tent and we ask nothing else of them. South America treats us like a “region” rather than a country. What do we do? We act like our country actually is a region.
China believes it is to big and clever to be destroyed, Russia believes it is too tough and experienced to be destroyed, Iran believes it is too holy to be destroyed. The US appears to have no reason to survive. Would Joe push the button? I seriously doubt it.

I am an almost 60 year old woman who has never held a gun - much less shot one. So I would flee, but would do all I could to help those who stayed behind with courage.

 

Where would you send your kids, or would you force them to the front too? How about the elderly?

Ukrainians are evacuating women, children and the elderly and obviously US would do the same, while probably less that 10% of the population, who are capable of fighting a war would fight. Most are simply not up to the task. Heck, 71 percent of American men between 17 and 24 are unfit for the military as it is. 22% of the population are kids, and 20% are seniors, and 50% are women. LOL

I am reading that Ukraine turns back most of the young men volunteers from other countries because they do not qualify physically or mentally, or because their motivations are off. Everyone thinks they are a hero who take shots at the enemy and every bullet hits someone in the forehead.

They should teach critical thinking in schools.

You DO NOT WANT to have incompetent idiots in your ranks, Period. They get people killed. Ukrainians are getting frustrated by having to interview and turn back foreign volunteers who would only drain their resources. They call them 'war tourists' who are more interested in getting pics for social media than fighting for Ukraine's independence. They are not needed, or wanted there. Those people are men in their prime, and they don't qualify. How about kids, elderly and most women?

Its the reality. You don't have a clue what you are talking about thinking everyone is suited for combat. About 6% of US population is suited, and that's over 20 million Americans, which is a lot of people + the standing military and reserves we already have. We would have way more volunteers that those who are qualified, so kids, women. old men and fat/unfit, drug addicts SHOULD self-disqualify as opposed to wasting the resources of those trying to organize the qualified troops.

You still need labor, medical care and transportation. For every man at the point of the stick, there are 50 behind them moving supplies forward.
There is nowhere to run.
