I would have let them come in, as I said before the invasion. I would have given the Russians time to get comfortable before I unleashed a wave of killing and sabotage. That way they aren't in a position to grind the citiea to rubble, as their own personnel would be in them.

Obviously that option would require some tricky planning, involving the concealment of weapons and purpose, prior to the invasion.

Yeah but it's not like there were a lot of good options prior to the invasion. The path the Ukranians chose has its downsides, notably the sieges that are just beginning.

 

Ukraine didn't choose the path, Russia did by invading and slaughtering women, children, and the elderly.

 

I meant the path they chose in response to Putin's morally disproportionate response to whatever he saw as a threat.
