    That is an incorrect statement.

Can't brandish a firearm. Kids can't possess handguns.

So you're incorrect on 2 fronts.

Pull a gun on a cop, you are getting shot. That notion will never change. Don't buy your kid a pellet gun if you don't want him to point it at a cop and get shot.

    Clearly indistinguishable from a firearm.

The statute you were given 3 to essays it isn't.

The fact of the matter is that the boy was not brandishing a firearm.

And the 2nd amendment is very relevant when police kill someone simply because they think the victim was in possession of a gun.

The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

Airsoft guns are clearly different than firearms.

Right. But he was brandishing a relics that was indistinguishable from one.

Not possession. Brandishing. Can't do that. And kids can't possess handguns.

Can't brandish. Kids can't possess handguns.

2nd amendment has no relevance here.

    - - - Updated - - -

But they don't look like they are. They are specifically made to look exactly like a real firearm.

The fact of the matter is that the boy was not brandishing a firearm. The pigs were brandishing firearms.

The kid was brandishing a replica that was indistinguishable and caused a panic. He then attempted to pull it in the cops as the video showed.

Not exactly. But pretty close. That's common knowledge. Therefore it is irrational to presume that an airsoft pellet gun is a firearm.

Hence the 911 call and subsequent shooting.

[QUITE] Therefore it is irrational to presume that an airsoft pellet gun is a firearm.[/QUOTE]
Actually it's completely rational, especially if its indistinguishable from one like in this case.

It is not indistinguishable from a firearm. There are very clear differences between a pellet gun and a firearm.

Of course it is. It was specifically designed to be.

true. But you can't tell the difference between the gun used in this case and a real one without up close hands on examination.

In other words, you're not satisfied with the facts. You just want to get your way.
For the ADULTS here, there's a big difference between a question of wearing shoes and a question of being on the phone.
You're just making this shiite up.

Actually I'm considering the facts rather than speculation.

Fact = Tamir was not in possession of a firearm.

Fact = A firearm and a pellet gun are distinguishable from each other. Fireams use a gunpowder charge to fire bullets, pellet guns do not. They do not work the same, sound the same, smell the same or even have interchangable parts.

FACT: Cops are shot at every day. (Or did you wonder why they wear those bulky bulletproof vests? It's not to make a fashion statement.) In the dark, the cop was not able to tell if that gun was a toy or not. There wasn't time. The kid reached for it. Again POLICE ACADEMY 101: Someone reaches for a gun, you FIRE. Torso shot. Put the perp down. No leg wound shots. Torso. Kill shot. Period.

What's being LOST in all of this is the question of WHY THE BRAT WAS PLAYING AROUND BY HIMSELF WHILE IT WAS GETTING DARK WITH A VERY REALISTIC LOOKING TOY GUN? Why isn't anyone here asking that question? Kids usually play with toy guns with each other. Very natural. They fire. They pretend to be hit and fall. They argue about who was hit and who should fall. Innocent stuff like that.
Why was this little IDIOT playing by himself? WHY didn't he know enough to drop the gun when the cops drove up? Why didn't he put his hands up when ordered to by the cops? WHY DID HE REACH FOR THAT TOY GUN? Was he stupid enough to think that he could have scared the cops with it? COPS CARRYING REAL GUNS AND WEARING BULLETPROOF VESTS?

I'm thinking (at least for the liberals here) that this is Darwinism at its finest. Natural selection. An inferior model was taken out of the gene pool before it could have done more damage.
I would have preferred the little moron DIDN'T get shot, but he brought it on himself.

This little PUNK was a Police shooting Gang Banger in the making and deserved what he got. Moral of the story is if Parents don't want their little Gang Banger WANABEE to get shot, don't give him a Toy gun that looks like the REAL! thing. Police don't always have the luxury of up close examination of a Gun as to whether it's real or not, the next cop that stops and tries that might be on the receiving end of a REAL gun and none of these Michael Brown supporting (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)s will give half a Rats Ass about that Police officer who was doing his job.

The victim is the only one to blame. The victim pulled a gun on a cop. If it looks real, he's obviously going to get shot. You'd have to be a complete moron to think otherwise.

    That is simply not true.

Not even the cops say that the little kid "pulled a gun on a cop".

This thread has nothing to do with the Michael Brown shooting. That's the subject of a different thread.

Furthermore, REAL guns are not illegal to possess. The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

This thread has everything to do with Michael Brown, Yeah! sure you have your second amendment rights, but if you go waving around a toy that looks just like a real gun and point it at a Cop, BANG! you're gonna be a dead punk for being stupid. It's really simple for people to keep from getting shot by a police officer, when they pull you over for something, don't walk up like a bad ass, punch him in the face and reach for his gun or if you have a toy gun, don't point it at a police officer. A lot of Police are killed every year by THUGS, but you don't see idiots having protests and burning down businesses, because of it. I would be willing to bet that a pretty big percentage of these idiots that are protesting, don't even know the name of the criminal thug Michael Brown they claim to be protesting about, they're just more criminals looking for an excuse to loot and rob law abiding citizens. Makes me sick
