    This claim remains baseless.

Two months ago an Iranian General visited Moscow and showed him the plans on how they can get rid of ISIS in Syria...but they will need Russia's help. Russia agreed and that's why they are there. They will give air support and Iran and Lebanon will give Assad ground support. Israel is very wary about Hezbollah, so having them there is not beneficial to Assad.

No one knows how successful the ground forces will be, but Russian advisers and marines will be helping them in strategy as well as volunteers...many who fought in Eastern Ukraine and quite successfully.

In the meantime Iraq has seen how useless the Americans have been and asked Russia for help. Russia is considering it. Afghanistan might also be asking Russia for help.

Frankly I wouldn't be paying to much attention to anything written other than the Russian news sources or certain credible sites such as Moon of Alabama, Washingtonsblog, New Eastern Outlook, etc.

It will go on not only in Syria, but Turkey as well...and that will involve Nato and the world.

All of those groups opposing the Syrian government want to establish an Islamic state with sharia law & chop the heads off all Christians & other infidels who refuse to convert so what's the difference between a moderate & an immoderate Sunni Islamic Terrorist?

And the Syrian government wants to kill and torture all those opposed to the regime. But since the government allows the sale of whiskey, it's all good!

Please extrapolate because I thought all the real moderates got disgusted with the radicals two years ago & either joined the Syrian army or left.

Goomba, just look at the celebrations that were going on all over Syria when Assad won the election...and with 87% of the vote no less. People were coming in from all over the world to vote because they were not allowed to vote at the embassies.

Do you think anyone should have the right to put these people under sharia law so that a gas pipe line can go through Syria?

Don't care. What matters is that Syria will never return to what it used to be. Syria doesn't exist anymore. Good riddance.

Wasn't Assad the only candidate in the election?

Even the Shia Hezbollah are NOT anti-Sunni.. but both are anti-ISIS.

According to some people, since Assad is secular, he can get away with his evil.

No. The point is that the Assad backers don't care about his evils simply because he is secular.

    Very good post!!

This map is an excellent example that details how Putin is allowing the Assad Regime to dictate where Russian Military Air Strikes should occur.

As any member can see the vast number of Russian Air Strikes are North of Damascus and about 50% are in Syrian Rebel Territory.
