One of the constant refrains/complaints we hear on the forums is some variation of "Why are you still talking about Trump?" or "Trump is living rent free in your heads!" Personally, I still talk about him because:

    1) Some of his legal challenges, such as those against the Trump Organization, are only just now being heard, having been delayed during his time in office.
    2) He remains the leader of one of our two major parties. Somehow. I'm on record as saying that the GOP would dump him after he either lost or carried out his last term, but I couldn't have been more wrong.
    3) He attempted to overthrow the 2020 election, he's building up to try to do so in 2024, and he remains the biggest domestic threat to our democratic systems.

Those things seem worth talking about. But if you've clicked on this thread, you probably disagree.

So, on to the challenge. I've issued a similar challenge to this one before, but I want to formalize it.

    If you:
    • Are/were a Trump supporter
    • Have been actively posting on PF for at least, let's say, 4 years
    • Have criticized people for still talking about Trump
    • And, most importantly, you have not posted about any other former president or presidential candidate after they either left office or lost their election loss
Then I will donate $100 to the nonprofit cause of your choice. Offer is good for the first 5 people who can demonstrate the above.

The evidence Trump is living rent free in the heads of Repubs, who are too fearful of his grip on rank and file members of the POT to criticize him, is everywhere.

Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY) on Sunday declined the chance to criticize former President Trump for defending his supporters’ chants of “hang Mike Pence” on the day of the Capitol insurrection.

Appearing on ABC News, Barrasso was asked to respond to Trump telling reporter Jon Karl that he wasn’t concerned about Pence’s safety on Jan. 6, despite his supporters chanting “hang Mike Pence” as the then-VP refused to give into the then-President’s election fraud falsehoods on the day of the joint session of Congress certifying Joe Biden’s electoral victory. Trump told Karl that it’s “common sense” for his supporters to be “very angry” as he continued pushing baseless claims of voter fraud in the 2020 election.

    https://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/barrasso-trump-hang-mike-pence-january-6

He remains the presumptive nominee for prez in 2024.

Give it a rest. @FreshAir constantly tells us it’s only natural to compare current and former presidents. The big difference with Trump is the left drags him into every thread even if it has nothing to do with anything presidential. And you can bet the farm on the left bringing up Trump any time Brandon screws up because some how mentioning Trump eliminates or lessen’s Brandon’s screw up.

Then @FreshAir is right. I'm talking to the Trump supporters who disagree with that, or who are being hypocritical about it.

I appreciate the white flag. Let me know if/when you can address the OP.

Excellent challenge! I am new here but I'll hazard a guess that you won't have to make any donations.

    Hypocrisy = The Trump Brand

It does appear he has been sentenced to life in solitary confinement in the minds of many. I voted against him twice, so I don't think I qualify as a supporter. He does have a way of getting people to work for him free of charge.

Have you spoken about previous presidents/candidates after they left office or lost their election?

So would I have to prove the four criteria to you, or will you do the verification?

If you actually complained about stuff that was true. For for instance why should he be worried about Pence Pence is still extant is he not? Why worry about things he had no real reason to believe we're going to happen.

All four points are verifiable using the forum search feature. A brief search shows you do not meet criteria #4.

Guess you haven't heard yet. Biden won the election in 2020 and has been president since January. Why can't you accept the results of the election? Trump is a non issue. He lives rent free in your head.

Trump and his supporters have not accepted that result. Trump has remained an issue. Can you address the OP or not?

A simple forum search shows me that you are STILL talking about Obama, even today. So saying that Trump is a non-issue is dishonest. Thank you for proving my point.

They have accepted the result. That's why Biden is in the White House. Their antics mean nothing. Democrats did not accept the results of the 2016 election for four years.

Trump and his followers have not accepted the result. If their antics meant nothing, then they wouldn't remain the leaders of the party. Your comparison to 2016 is dishonest. No one tried to install Clinton as an unelected leader. Trump supporters, lead by Trump, did.

We didn't like the result, but we accepted it - in that we didn't question the legitimacy of the election results. Did you see it differently? Which Dems were challenging the results?

    I didn't see a question here.

But it's okay we know why you're still talking about Trump. It's because he still has influence, and his style of politics have sent reverberations throughout the entire Republican Party.

You are talking about him because you are afraid of him and what he represents. We all know this and that's why we ask the question but you are afraid to answer.

    It's a form of torment.

Ummmmmmmmmm, yes they did. We had Jill Stein ask for recounts when she had absolutely no chance of winning a recount. We had Democrats calling for electors to be faithless so that Trump couldn't win the necessary electoral votes to win. Then we had two sham impeachments and for four years we heard that Trump colluded with Russia when he didn't. We also had Democrats lying in order to get FISA warrants to derail Trump's election win.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faithless_electors_in_the_2016_United_States_presidential_election

The faithless electors who opposed Donald Trump were part of a movement dubbed the Hamilton Electors co-founded by Micheal Baca of Colorado and Bret Chiafalo of Washington. The movement attempted to find 37 Republican electors willing to vote for a different Republican in an effort to deny Donald Trump a majority in the Electoral College and force a contingent election in the House of Representatives. The electors advocated for voting their conscience to prevent the election of someone they viewed as unfit for the presidency as prescribed by Alexander Hamilton in No. 68 of The Federalist Papers.[6][7]

This was an attempt to overthrow a legal election and deny a legitimately elected president a win. Democrats were trying to overthrow our democracy.

I never voted for Trump. I don't think he is presidential, and I don't like his hasty approach.

I also think multiple people on this forum have a legit mental condition and complete infatuation with the man... and it isn't his supporters.

Ummmmmmmmmmm, Jill Stein, who literally had zero chance of winning, demanding a recount. Democrats urged electors to be faithless, denying Trump the win in the electoral college and letting the House decide who would be president. Gee, I wonder who they would have voted?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faithless_electors_in_the_2016_United_States_presidential_election

The faithless electors who opposed Donald Trump were part of a movement dubbed the Hamilton Electors co-founded by Micheal Baca of Colorado and Bret Chiafalo of Washington. Then we had Democrats lying to FISA courts to deny Trump the presidency, we had Democrats screaming Russia collusion when the Mueller report found no Russian collusion with Trump to win, and we had two sham impeachments.

It is the fear that he will be president again come 1/20/25. Many like to believe that by pointing out all of the issues over and over, it will sway some people to see the light

It won't, both sides are too far dug in and both sides have way more wrong than right
