That must be why Michelle left the White House being the most unpopular FLOTUS in American history. Oh, wait
Well, if you seriously think Trump's wife went for padded bra over enhancement surgery, though? LMAO.
There's always comparing today's gals with the prior FLOTUS's nude lezzy photo of her with another woman, eh?
You got to give Jill Biden one thing... She does seem to have experienced hustling dementia patients around
She didn’t, but I understand how those who don’t understand metaphors, and how they can aid in spoken prose, would see it that way if it gave them a preferred narrative.
She said Latinos are as "unique as . . . breakfast tacos." That's a quote. Also, side note, that's a simile, not a metaphor, which is used to compare two things--in this case, Latinos to tacos. It would be wise that those on this forum who question another poster's supposed lack of understanding language are not simultaneously ironic in their ignorance thereof.
Since you seem to be confusing metaphors with similes, too, the same goes for you: It would be wise that those on this forum who question another poster's supposed lack of understanding language are not simultaneously ironic in their ignorance thereof.
Am I as funny as calling Jill Biden "Dr. Biden" unironically? By the way, that prior sentence is an example of a simile, not a metaphor, in case you were wondering. To me, what's funny is Jill Biden simply getting a doctoral degree because she didn't want to be called Mrs. Biden in the mail: Joe Biden, on the campaign trail, explained that his wife’s desire for the highest degree was in response to what she perceived as her second-class status on their mail. “She said, ‘I was so sick of the mail coming to Sen. and Mrs. Biden. I wanted to get mail addressed to Dr. and Sen. Biden.’ That’s the real reason she got her doctorate,” he said. Funny, yet sad, especially considering that she received said degree from the University of Delaware, where there is, I **** you not, an entity called the Joseph R. Biden, Jr. School of Public Policy & Administration, not to mention that he was a US Senator of Delaware for decades. No conflict of interest there. No, none at all.
I think I might go the Matt Walsh route and make a documentary for you called What is a Metaphor? What do you think?
Sigh. Mr. Grammar Police.... my most sincere and humble apologies. How will you ever forgive me for such a slight? *Snickers* Either way, saying a people are as diverse as flowers is not an insult, nor are the few other SIMILES she used to complement them. Have they complained?
I think that you are like a puppy that steps into something very sticky, you bark at it a lot and accomplish nothing.
It appears you are getting a bit sensitive. Let me ask you another question. What is your level of education?
Technically, I wouldn't be the grammar police. I did not criticize you grammatically; I criticized you lexically. Therefore, I would be the lexical police in this instance, which is way cooler-looking. Although I prefer the "lexical po-po." Furthermore, you really can't criticize that I am being overcorrecting in my criticism of your post, as you wrote this: Since you were apparently implying that I don't understand metaphors, you can't seriously, when corrected about not understanding what a metaphor is yourself, ironically turn around, screaming, "Grammar Police!" This is essentially what you did: You: You don't understand what a metaphor is. Me: That wasn't a metaphor; that was a simili. You: Grammar Police! That's a bit silly, no? But diverse as flowers and diverse as snowflakes are different similes to saying that Latinos are as diverse as breakfast tacos. There is a certain poetic beauty in being compared to the diversity of flowers; there isn't one in being compared to tacos. She is still comparing Latinos to breakfast tacos. You can't get around that, since similes are comparing two things. Have Latinos complained? Well, there's this: The National Association of Hispanic Journalists said in a statement that Biden’s comment demonstrated "a lack of cultural knowledge and sensitivity to the diversity of Latinos in the region." It would appear, therefore, that white liberals, such as yourself presumably, are defending Jill Biden, even though she apologized, and they apparently were offended. Like Jill Biden, I would say that white liberals have a "lack of cultural knowledge and sensitivity to the diversity of Latinos."
