Not brainwashing. Just the facts. Companies look at tax rates when deciding to do business here or not. They won't know what their effective rate will be ahead of time. Either way, my discussion and OP was about the publiched corporate tax rates, not effective rates. Move on.

You think businesses are naive and bogusly ignore effective rates (which are of course well known by everyone but a few manipulated conservatives)? Crikey, you don't have a high opinion of the businessman

Don't be shy now. Do you honestly think businesses are ignorant of effective rates (the only means to make international comparisons)?

What is the basis for your disagreement, other than it undermines your argument?

Comparison of corporate taxes actually paid:

And, despite all the whining about corporate taxes by conservatives (like what else is new), the taxes corporations actually pay today are not only very low compared to other countries, but they are at historical lows as well:

As is usually with our conservative friends' posts on taxes, when you look at the substance of the matter, all you find in their claims is fluff.

The fact is Obama's buffet rule is more about politics and votes than tax

I'm not interested in the party politics. Indeed, if I was American, I wouldn't vote for Obama. But that's irrelevant! What's important is accuracy. The OP makes bogus conclusion from irrelevant information

It is not the highest and is nowhere near. As said earlier, a summary of the academic research has already been posted that proves that

As percent of GDP? GDP has nothing to do with taxes

I've read everything and refer directly to the primary research. There isn't one published scholarly paper that reports the US has the highest corporate tax rate. Crikey, your latest effort just says the OP is wrong

The last graph posted there was actually effective tax rates.

Sure it does. It provides a relative measure to compare how much businesses actually pay in tax in different economies.

No it is a scam to not look at tax rates and money paid

So you ignore the tax rate. Yet you complain about 15% tax rate on capital gains. More deception on your part

Don't fib now. The scholarly research (and your own evidence) has destroyed the OP as complete cobblers. You best inform him

The last graph Iriemon posted was a graph of actual average effective tax rates paid and was not in relation to GDP.

Certainly not. My point was initial corporate rates. This thread was more of an informational thread, as the numbers speak for themselves.
