Are vaccines really effective in preventing Covid infections (and deaths)?

Right wingers say the vaccine doesn't prevent Covid. Are they right?

Why has the number of Covid cases gone down so much compared to January? The vaccine? It started to become widely available in January. But no!

    That can't be it!

Not according to Trump loyalists. So what is producing this downturn in the number of Covid cases?

Some dismiss the claim by right-wingers as part of a right-wing propaganda. But...not so fast! What if they're right? We shouldn't just dismiss the possibility. So what else has happened since January?

Only thing I can think of is that Trump is no longer President.

So maybe... just maybe... right wingers are right. It's not the vaccine that is driving down the number of cases. Maybe it's just Trump not being President that is preventing so many people from becoming infected!

Those sneaky pharmaceutical companies! They made us think that it's the vaccine that prevents Covid. And what ACTUALLY worked was removing Trump from the Presidency!

    Who'd a thunk!

Why do you continue to post information that has been proven false ? The vax does not significantly prevent transmission or infection. Enough of this anti Science nonsense ... and what does your rejection of science have to do with some partisan Red/Blue thing ?

Then you make this claim that because covid cases came down from one period to the next .. the vaccine works .. obscene anti scientific anecdotal nonsense. Covid cases rose and fell prior to the vax being available .. cause thats what viruses do .. is a living system - that goes in cycles.

Another complete fail on your part -- :deadhorse::deadhorse: and while on your anti Trump rant .. always remember - that my arguments against Trump are way better than yours.

We do not know that is true. They do not keep track of the number of Covid cases which have no symptoms because they are not normally reported.

Great! That means that the reason Covid cases (and deaths) are SIGNIFICANTLY down from January is, not the vaccines, but that Trump is no longer President.

Works for me! That'll be a great campaign slogan for 2024

I would say dying is a pretty significant symptom

    You are desperate!

You did not say "dying". You said "number of Covid cases". The vast majority of people who get Covid do not die. Additionally, those who are vaccinated are likely not to exhibit any symptoms at all, but they can still infect.

CDC quit monitor breakthrough cases in May other than deaths and hospitalization..... They do not monitor the vaccinated that still catch Covid and have symptoms... they only monitor deaths and hospitalizations...

10,857 Fully Vaccinated Americans Have Died Of COVID-19; 30,000 Hospitalized

"Deaths and hospitalization" sound like pretty good indicators that Trump not being in office is effective in preventing people from dying of Covid.

Stress does affect the immune system, so you may have accidentally made a point. Those having daily meltdowns have weak immune systems (in addition to having weak minds) and may be less susceptible to viruses now that the source of their irrational meltdowns is gone. Of course, there are those keeping it alive and they should take the vaccine along with the old and frail.

So that is why Trump supporters have been dying of Covid disproportionately more than non Trump supporters since January!

It means thanks to Trump and Operation Warp Speed that Americans don't have to wait until 2022 to get the vaccines...through the emergency use authorization (EUA) from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)...... does that work for you? The vaccine were ready to go from the manufactures but government red tape were in the way... But you can thank Trump because the usual wait was 2 to 7 years for FDA approval..

So you think the vaccines ARE effective.

You're going to have a hard time convincing your Trumpist colleagues of that.

"10,857 Fully Vaccinated Americans Have Died Of COVID-19; 30,000 Hospitalized" sound like pretty good indicators that Biden being in office and having vaccines available that were not available for Trump shows he is letting people die.... remember he said if you get the shot "you will not catch Covid"...

The sentence I responded to said "Why has the number of Covid cases gone down so much compared to January? The vaccine? It started to become widely available in January. But no!"

If you were referring to "deaths" in that sentence, you should have said "deaths" in that sentence.

Don't blame me for your inability to write correctly.

Oops, you did not do your research again. I realize you were going for humor and that your good point was unintentional.

I haven't had Covid. But do YOU believe that to be possible?

"""So you think the vaccines ARE effective.""
I think vaccines are available here now because of Trump... not because of Biden.. (Warp Speed)
    I have been vaccinated.
Biden said I would not get Covid if I got the shots...
I wear masks in all public places... not common at all today
I caught Covid and had to quarantine for 10 days
So no I do not think vaccines can keep me from catching Covid like Biden said...
I did not catch Covid when I was unvaccinated so please don't tell me how my symptoms were different from being vaccinated versus unvaccinated as we don't have those two variant to compare

And what would be your answer if that sentence had said "deaths"?

So if it's not the vaccines, and it has nothing to do with Trump, why have the number of cases or deaths been going down so significantly since January?

Is it Biden becoming President? Or what? What else happened in January that caused this dramatic drop? Could it be maybe Biden getting rid of Trump-era deregulations? Or more immigrants coming through the southern border?

What caused this, in your opinion?

Don't tell me you jumped into this thread to tell us what DIDN'T cause it. Tell us what DID. I see no purpose in you participating in this thread if you don't have an answer to that. Somebody might interpret that as "trolling". But I'm sure that's not the case, right?

Its your claim. You think Trump gives people Covid.
And yes, I believe you think that

And since more people have died from Covid under Biden, than Trump, according to you, its Biden now killing people?
