As it stands, is there a single SHRED of evidence that the vaccine prevents transmission?

While true that they can't prevent retransmission unless they start breathing bottled air, it should be noted that by eliminating the body's ability to reproduce the virus the chance of retransmission rapidly goes down to zero. Unlike a person without vaccination that is a veritable breeding ground for producing and sharing the virus.

    I'm lazy.

I'm not gonna start getting into the practice of hunting down your links because you found a meme.

As expected. The paper you linked is a study of the variant b1.1.7. the alpha variant.

    Get another study.

Okay, so no evidence that the vaccine prevents transmission. Got it!

Yeah, but you're not saying that no vaccine can be called a vaccine?

Any idea why the hospital numbers from the US are more like 95% unvaccinated, 5% vaccinated?

I'm not a big fan of government mandates for many things, including this, except maybe as a requirement to attend public schools, be in the military, or even just to be a government employee. Having said that, the fact that 94% of those in my wife's hospital for Covid are unvaccinated is reason enough for me to get it personally, and to recommend it to my family members, or even perfect strangers. But me saying it's a damn good idea to get it is not the same thing as a government mandate. For those who wish to blow it off for whatever reason, be my guest. It's your funeral.

So it prevents 99.9% of transmission?

Although, not prevention from death benefit, right?

It seems that the only POSSIBLE justification for a vaccine mandate, is to protect the hospital system from being overwhelmed by the unvaxxed, rather than protecting the vaxxed from the unvaxxed.

That the vaxxed shouldn't be paranoid about them.

Actually, who cares? Cases are cases, are they not? And if it is the vaccinated that are both getting sick and capable of spreading COVID, what difference does it make? Quite literally, the vaccinations aren't vaccinations. They don't preclude you from getting sick, and the number of cases they now represent is far too large as a percentage of all cases to demand that folks become vaccinated at all. Why should you be? What actual benefit to individuals, or to society has getting vaccinated produced?

I am unclear what your meaning to say here. Folks who have been vaccinated have died. There is plenty of data and evidence to demonstrate that empirically. I haven't seen any credible data that demonstrates that the vaccination in any way lowered the risk of death in infected folks. And while new variations of the virus do seem to be more infectious, it doesn't seem to have become more deadly. The vaccine itself hasn't then really done much of anything except be required to be taken.

The vaccines don't prevent serious illness for the majority who get COVID?

That is correct. If there are fewer infected or lower viral loads in infected people, fewer virus particles will be transmitted. My point was that the vaccines do not affect transmission.
