Ashli Babbitt’s Shooter Michael Byrd Made a False Radio Call Shortly After Fatal Incident

“It has come out in a recent federal lawsuit that U.S. Capitol Police Lt. Michael Byrd, who shot unarmed Trump supporter Ashli Babbitt, issued a false radio report alleging that bullets were fired at him in the Speaker’s Lobby and that he was “prepared to fire back.”

The previously unknown radio message is also recorded on an audio tape acquired exclusively by The Epoch Times of Capitol Police’s “OPS2” dispatch channel on that day.

Ms. Babbitt’s widower, Aaron Babbitt of San Diego, filed a federal lawsuit on Jan. 5 seeking information about the tape. Mr. Babbitt is suing the federal government for $30 million in wrongful death damages, with Judicial Watch supporting him….”

This article goes into great detail about newly discovered audio and video recordings of the police and the area where Ashli was killed. It seems that the officer involved made some mistakes consistent with others in his career. His radio statement after shooting her was clearly wrong.

 

Another video recovered shows that Mrs Babbitt was not trying to break windows there but was trying to stop another who did.

 

So babbit was trying to climb through the window to stop someone from breaking it?

What did you think about the fact that they forced a doctor and a medic who were treating her away from her treatment to assure that she would not survive?

 

Let’s not make excuses for the only officer who panicked and shot an unarmed woman.

 

There is no excuse for interrupting the Constitutional necessity of confirming the will of the voters.

 

People seem to have no trouble making excuses for a cop who asphyxiates a guy in handcuffs or shoots an innocent woman in her own home. Yet for some reason when its a Trump supporter who is part of a violent mob that is smashing its way into one of the chambers of Congress this is some great injustice. Spare me. She had countless opportunities to walk away and chose none of them.

Here's an idea: 1) don't join the violent mob intent on stopping certification of the election; 2) obey the commands of the armed policeman when he tells you not jump thought the smashed door; 3) don't jump through the smashed door with the armed man on the other side.

Yep, yep, I am sure "they" were all into it, Pelosi, Biden, Harris, Schumer, Obama.. (did I forget anyone on the Trumper hate list?). They were all on the phone that day with law enforcement and told them to prevent medical treatment, should anyone get hurt.

1. I never saw a 6' 220 lb man shoot a 5'2 115 lb woman because he considered the woman a threat. I certainly would not have considered her a lethal threat and I don't believe the cop did either.

2. Where is this mythical door you speak of? I have video of her going through a window. Facts matter.

3. I have watched hundreds of videos of black felons not obeying the commands of armed policeman and ending up dead. In every one of them. progressives have taken the side of the black felon. Apparently it is ok to kill a white woman if she is disobeys police orders but not ok to kill a black man disobeys police orders. I personally think this woman was nuts. If a cop was aiming a gun at me, I would never have attempted to climb through the window. She played a stupid game and won a stupid prize.

4. What upsets me is that during the George Floyd insurrection, hundreds of people did exactly what this woman during the Capitol protest. If the cops would have shot the insurrectionists as they did this woman, perhaps billions of dollars and innocent lives could have been spared. The problem is that when the government agrees with your violence, they will allow and protect it. They wanted the George Floyd insurrection for electoral purposes and they got it. This the third world banana Republic that we live in and we will never return to a sane world.

 

Well at least she wasn't black so it didn't inspire more riots..... Every cloud has a silver lining.

Nope, I really researched those minutes leading up to her shooting; it's clear that she was cheer-leading the violence and probably the leader of the group that was attacking the barricade at the entrance to the Speakers Lobby. Which is supported by the fact that she was the first to attempt to go through the breach and why she was shot.

I think that's bullshit.

 

Members of Congress were visible through the windows Babbitt's manic mob were trying to destroy. Byrd, plainly, did not panic. He was the ONLY individual between the barricade and the maniacs yearling threats and trying to get to congress. There are many shouts of "gun", "he's got a gun" prior to Babbitt jumping up into the window. When Babbitt jumps into the window opening you can plainly see Officer Byrd step forward and fire ONCE. Which, IMHO, is proof he didn't panic and used minimum force available to him.

Most defensive weapons training emphasizes a "double tap" or the Mozambique drill; IF you are forced to shoot. That's two shots to the body, or two to the body and one to the head since body armor is so widely used by many criminals. This is practiced until it is ingrained and second nature. That Officer Byrd only fired once shows that he was using his head and as calm as you could expect anyone to be in that circumstance. Otherwise training would have taken over and he would have fired two to three shots. He didn't he fired once, she fell back and no more shots were fired once the threat had been stopped.

Babbitt was not unaremed she had a mob of 20 to 30 maniacs behind her. IF she hadn't been stopped the whole manic mob would have followed. They certainly would have taken out Officer Byrd and proceeded to our escaping Congress and who knows how many people would have been harmed. Officer Byrd's single shot saved lives.

 

If they attempt a coup/insurrection then deadly force may be necessary. Doesn't matter which side.

Note that only one of your flock was killed, which suggests great restraint on the part of Capitol security.
