Ashli Babbitt’s Shooter Michael Byrd Made a False Radio Call Shortly After Fatal Incident

Well I'm sure you won't call it a coup or an insurrection, you'll say it was a riot that got out of hand.

But nevertheless it's not going to end well for them.

 

Truth...

 

She was armed. She had a knife.

 

That's the first I've heard of this. Where might you have heard that at?

 

Well, one thing is pretty certain, if Trump wins in a close and contested election (as is very possible), Biden going to the courts to get vote counts clarified will be labeled by you and other Trump supporters as an insurrection.

The other thing that is certain in this case is that Trump supporters will call it a mandate, even if he loses the popular vote again, and we'll be back to "f your feelings" gloating by the RW.

As to the topic of this thread: Isn't it funny how all the Trump supporters deeply sympathize with the 1/6 rioters, even by attacking law enforcement (so much for back the blue)? It's as if they wished they had been there that fateful day to help stop the steal.

 

It's not a copy paste it's from memory of my research shortly after the insurrection occurred; and from the experience of many hours of firearms training. There's no need to be snippy about it, I'm sure as American's we all want the truth; right?

This video from about 27:00 through 28:40 captures what happened outside the Speaker's Lobby that led to Babbitt's shooting, the shooting and the immediate aftermath.

The reason three security guards leave the entrance to the lobby is because they believe they are being relieved. There are 4 maybe 6 armed officers in riot gear coming up the stairs just behind where Babbitt fell. As soon as the three guards see the armed officers they get the hell out of there. It's at that moment, before the armed officers can take their place that Babbitt jumps up into the window and is shot.

 

What difference would that make given even if copied they both would be anonymous?

 

I'll bet "they don't attack our Capitol" or try to interfere with Congressional business ... no matter who wins. I'm guessing that IF a repeat of 2021 EVER happens again the attackers, whomever "they" are, will be met WITH deadly force long before they can breach the interior of our Capitol building. Another rape of our Capitol will never be allowed again! I hope.

So she had a pocket knife in her pocket?
In other words it was not in her hand and the cop could not have seen it so it doesn't factor into the shooting. He can't feel threatened by something she was not brandishing and he wasn't aware that she even had.

looks like the cop was right, she was a threat, course we all knew that as they\she was trying to get to them through a barricaded door

Does it matter? She was backed up by a manic mob, Congress was visible to them and within feet of the barricade they had breached. IF Officer Byrd hadn't reacted that mob would have overwhelmed him and attacked the Congress people they had been yelling death threats at. I think it's pretty clear that it would have been a violent encounter and Officer Byrd was the only person between 20 to 30 maniacs determined to harm OUR representatives. He did his job, using a minimum of force available to him. No more, or less.

 

Nothing nefarious about having a pocket knife. I carry one every single day.

Regardless, it was in a pocket and it had nothing to do with the cop deciding to shoot her.

Did you watch the video? Charged with protecting Congress what options did Officer Byrd, one man against 30, have?

He fired one shot, (apparently) aiming for center of mass but, since she was a moving target, hit high. It was timed when the backstop was the ceiling behind her. IF he had waited for her to hit the ground he couldn't have taken a shot without endangering people, including her cohorts, in the anti-chamber. So had he waited he couldn't have shot. Considering the situation and the mayhem going on, he did the absolute best and only thing he could have done.

 

It's only Monday AM and that is already the post of the week....

you think if a private citizen had shot that woman, the DA wouldn't have charged teh shooter based on the fact she had a knife he couldn't see in her pocket.

can you imagine if a cop shot a person saying being part of a mass of black looters overrunning a store and the DA said we aren't charging the cop because the person he shot had a deadly weapon in her pocket?
