It depends on the regional and ethnic peculiarities of folks living there. It is not so popular as some other names but it definitely would be in top of ten for Russian kids. Right, Vladimir? :)

Friends of mine toured the Soviet Union just before the collapse. One intriguing photo they took was a war memorial. It was a hill or small mountain made of small stones and pebbles. Each stone or pebble represents a village that ceased to exist after the Nazi invasion. Could you tell me the name of it.

And far more mundane. What would be a typical Russian breakfast?

    Your friends visited Belorussia?
Maybe it was a war memorial - “the cemetery of the non-regenerated (destroyed by Nazis) villages“ >

My breakfast usually consists of tea or coffee and a sandwich. Sometimes a fried potato or porridge or even a soup, though it is not healthy. The right, classical Russian breakfast should consist of porridge, usually rice porridge with milk or porridge made of semolina with milk plus cocoa, tea or coffee.
In fact Russian cuisine has many recipes of different porridges, with milk with meat and so on. Usually this going for a breakfast.

yes, it looks like very similar of the description. We have a lot of monuments of this type all over the Russia; usually they show only local destroyed villages. During WW2 were destroyed about 70 000 villages and towns. So it would be really hard to present them all on one monument.

I moved from Moscow in Feb 2011 and I could say only few things about situation there for that time. Yes they should afraid to visit Moscow; I would say that right now it is not a good time to visit Russia at all. Just my humble opinion. First of all there are a lot of problems with ethnic bands - one. Police in Russia still not able to deal with them more, is could say, adequately. Another one thing: only 4% of people in Moscow have parent who were born there. What does it mean? That means Moscow - city of people from other parts ex-soviet union. Russian there only 25%. It is capital of Russia, but not Russian city at all.

I live in Russia, and your answer did not surprise me, because you are traitor of your Motherlrend and you are not Russian, just because you hate Russia. It is very simple and obvious.
But why you created this thread?

Out of curiosity, have you heard of Slovianski? It is a constructed regional language that is supposed to be understood by all of slavic background with an operational knowledge at about 80% just by looking at it.

Also, wondered about the average opinion of Russians, towards Americans. What do they really think of us as a whole aside from our idiot politicians?

On your second question. My answer is-the Americans are normal people, almost indistinguishable from the Russian.
In the crowd you will not see a difference.

Oh, rly? Strange how i managed to get into 4%...along with majority of people I know. And most of them are Russians.
    Conclusion:
not Russian, or, probably, liberast scum.

Take care.Especially at night. It is hard to notice black gang when it's dark.

Impossible to say. Different people understand that question in different ways. Somebody like nation and dislike state, somebody like state but dislike nation, for others they are all the same. Majority don't care.
