The word SOLDIER....can not EVER be used to label or even be associated to a member of Al-Qaeda or the Taliban.

They are COWARDS OF THE HIGHEST LEVEL and resort to STONING GIRLS TO DEATH and BEATING WOMEN because they were not within 5 foot of their Husband and of course there is the well documented BOY RAPES by the members of these two groups.

You really have no idea what you are talking about.

Why then, on July 3, 1979, did the Carter administration begin a Faustian affair with some of the most brutal fanatics on earth after having engaged in a 500 million dollar covert action programme with the aim of overthrowing Afghanistan's first progressive and secular government, the PDPA?

I know the answer but I'm interested in your take. I'll give you a clue. It had nothing to do with the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.

Operation Storm-333 (Шторм-333, Shtorm-333) was the codename of an operation on 27 December 1979 in which Soviet Special Forces stormed the Tajbeg Palace in Afghanistan and killed Afghan President Hafizullah Amin and his 100–150 personal guards.[2] His 11-year-old son died due to shrapnel wounds.[3] The Soviets installed Babrak Karmal as Amins successor.

I had to look up the name of the operation as I could not remember as this is before my time.

That $500 Million NEVER made it to Afghanistan as arms and instead was sucked up by Pakistan and other Groups hired to develop Logistics.

Then of course there was the Carter Doctrine.

Not everything that people read about is the full story or sometimes even true.

By the way...even though the Soviet Special Forces Assassination occurred after the Carter action we knew through our assets in Eastern Europe what was to happen in Afghanistan.

In 1998 Brzezinski admitted that Washington had lied to the American people about the American role which had nothing to do with the Soviet invasion as was sold to them. The fact is, it was the aim of the US at that time to overthrow the secular and progressive PDPA government. In August, 1970, for example, the US embassy in Kabul reported the following:

"The United States' larger interests would be served by the demise of the PDPA government, DESPITE WHATEVER SETBACKS THIS MIGHT MEAN FOR FUTURE SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC REFORMS IN AFGHANISTAN."

Now don't you find that stance somewhat hypocritical given all the rhetoric about how these brutes called the mujahdeen/Taliban needed to be regime changed on humaitarian grounds. I mean much of the subsequent rhetoric and policy has focused on the supposed need for Western humanitarian interventionism and the need to implement democracy. Can't you see the double-standards? It's duplicity of this kind that explains why so many people get angry about US foreign policy in the ME.

Whether we talk about 1970 or 1979 it was still about the same thing....the Soviet Union wanted control over the Middle Eastern Oil Fields and Afghanistan offered them a reason to invade as well place themselves in a position to take over Saudi Arabia.

Carter knew this just as Nixon knew this.

Poor Alpha, his relatives got the shaft in Nam, He knows the war was a scam.
But he never looked into why.

Now he's some sort of military guru as blind to present day US treachery as his relatives getting themselves shot in Nam were blind to their situation.

He still can't accept the long experience of a Marine Corps General who figured out that ALL the wars he fought in were rackets, and had nothing to do with "protecting America" or our imaginary freedom.

And on top of that he's spouting some patriotic stuff about freedom to justify False Witness, Treachery, Hypocrisy, Torture and Slaughter of unarmed people in Libya and Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, and other places.

    It's ALL A RACKET!!!!!!!!!!

What I have been posting has nothing to do with Patriotism....it is simply the experiences I have and the experiences of others I know.

My....JOB...is not to start or create war...my JOB is to prevent war from happening or limiting it's scope and effects.

Syrian Army has caught an Al Qaeda Jabhat Al Nusra Commander trying to escape from Homs to Lebanon. He was dressed as a woman in attempt to avoid detection.

Looks like after Washington got told by citizens that there shall be no boots-on-the-ground in Syria, combined with how anyone with an education above that of a plenaria knows Syria is under the Russian sphere, that the secret deal was, if the Assad's dump their chemical weapons, they will be fed American satellite intelligence.

That is not the deal nor do we have any other deal other than we will not overtly support Syrian Rebels as long as Assad continues to give up his Chemical Weapons.

There will come a point in time where Assad will state he has given up all his Chemical Weapons but this is not going to happen as he will keep some....and at this point we will contest his claims.

Let's make one thing clear...Russia no longer has a SPHERE OF INFLUENCE as Russian Military Capability has degraded to such a great extent that it can no longer provide any real counter force to any U.S. Military Forces except upon and within Russian Soil.

And even there Russia would have to resort to Nuclear Weapons to repel any U.S. Military Force.

Assad is well aware of this and that is why he is giving up his Chemical Weapons.

Here is the thing...why do you think we have allowed the Assad regime to even EXIST up to this point?

We know the realities. We have multiple satellites using a variety of forms of detection scanning Syria and the surrounding area 24/7 365 days a year. Using Deep Ground and Sea Penetrating Radar and Magnetometers we can detect, identify and detail where every underground bunker, lab or facility is and what goes on there as well know where and what ships might be located near Syria and within and underneath the Med Sea and any other sea or Ocean.

We have such a high level of VISUAL satellite capability we could tell you if a quarter lying on the ground is heads or tails up. We have IR-Sensors capable of seeing directly through walls and ceilings and know EXACTLY where people, soldiers or other combatants might be anywhere or within any building....as well we can see IR traces of Gun Fire or any stationed machinery, tanks, trucks, planes...etc.

We have Mass Spectrometers that can determine EXACTLY what chemical compounds might have been released into the atmosphere and by who, where and even can determine both Chemically and by Yield who made such weapons and who used them and how they were used against others.

There is not a single square or cubic inch on the ground or in the air, land or sea that we do not know what is going on and how it happened.

As long as Assad did not use Chemical weapons....we were to have left him alone as we KNOW the realities and the possibilities and probabilities given the INSANE NATURE of some people in the Middle East.

But Assad threw this all out the window the moment he used Chemical Weapons.

We know this...the French and U.K. know this....the Russian's know this...and Assad KNOWS WE KNOW THIS.

I was supposed to go over there UNTIL I was told to stand down when Kerry and the Russian's came up with the idea to allow Assad the chance to give up his Chemical Weapons....and this is a GOOD THING....but...this is what is going to happen I fear and I might have to go there after all and believe me I would rather not.

Assad will give up about 75% of his Chemical Weapons and then say...That's it! You have them all!.

Then we will say...That is NOT it! Give up the rest as we know how much you have and where they are!

So Assad will give up another 5% and say again...Really...that's it! And we will again say...That's not it!!

This will go on until Assad has about 10% of his Chemical Weapons stockpile left....and then unfortunately I will probably get a call.

USA has no influence. Just another bankrupt nation who is tired of war and wasting billions on invading other nations.

American influence in region has never been lower.

Defeat in Afghanistan --- taliban will take over after withdrawal
Defeat in Iraq --- invaded a country with no WMDs and destroyed it. 4500 soldiers dead. Al Qaeda slowly taking over Iraq
Defeat in Libya -- bombing Gaddafi and letting Al Qaeda and radicals take over Libya
Defeat in Syria -- their little regime change project has gone awfuly wrong and now al qaeda has never been stronger.

Everyone laughs at USA. A Paper tiger for sure

You keep thinking of the U.S. and Russia as being some kind of strong adversaries. Russia could care less of the U.S., it's problems is the Caucasus and those who support them, as well as the North Sea, the Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean. These are the areas which concern its survival, and this is where it is building its forces.

Russia's land army is for a war in the Caucasus, and its naval force is for the Eastern Mediterranean as well as the North Sea. Neither China or the U.S. enters the picture, although Russia doesn't fully trust them, and with good cause. The U.S. by the way, has been withdrawing its naval forces in the Eastern Mediterranean as the Russian navy moves in. The only other force of worth is Turkey, and who in the d*** world wants that. They have broken off diplomatic relations with: Cyprus, Egypt, Israel, Armenia, Syria, and also have friction with Iraq, Lebanon and Iran to boot...not to mention they keep advancing more and more into Greek and Cypriot territorial waters.

If you actually thought this you would not be spending all this time posting so much nonsense which is both both completely opposite and contrary to what the reality is and what I have been posting.

I mean if Syria did not worry about just what the United States and the U.S. Military might actually do as well as what the U.S. State Department might advise the current U.S. Administration to do concerning any additional Economic Sanctions of blocking of any U.S. Allies ability to trade with Syria....then why is it that Syria is giving up it's Chemical Weapons? LOL!!!!

The actual REALITY is....something you seem to refuse to admit by typing about it here directly but INDIRECTLY EVERYTHING you post here is specific and directly created and stated by you as a response to what you and the Assad Regime KNOWS is the very REAL POSSIBILITY that if Assad pushes the United States too far by doing ANYTHING that might be considered by the U.S. as actually going too far....ASSAD KNOWS AND SO DO YOU....HE...ASSAD CAN KISS HIS ASS GOODBYE.....as if we do determine he has gone too far his removal from power in Syria WILL BE IMMEDIATE!!!

Other than from a Nuclear perspective and even that will soon be a thing of the past....the United States DOES NOT consider Russia a threat of any kind or having any real viable capability of posing a threat to either the E.U. or the United States.

As far as Syria...A DEAL WAS MADE between Russia and the United States and it is playing out nicely....and hopefully it will continue that way unless Assad does what I am fairly certain he will do that being play games.

As far as the Med Sea....the United States has Military Bases completely surrounding the entire area and in fact both U.S. Military's EUROCOM and CENTCOM have really no need to have large numbers of U.S. Navy ships in that region as we can easily hit any target in that region from a number of bases and when U.S. Navy Carrier Groups are brought in to the Med or Red sea YOU BETTER BELIEVE for our Navy to place a Multi-Billion Dollar Carrier Group in such small bodies of water they are there for ONE purpose and ONE purpose only...that being TO BE USED.

Your assessment of Russian capability is simply not correct. Russia can project power anywhere it pleases and does not fear the US military.

Both sides know that a war between the two is unwinnable/unthinkable.

You are confused perhaps by the cessation of the previous policy of trying to match the US ship for ship/plane for plane.

Russia realized that this was not economically possible and started funnelling its cash into missiles. By the 1990s Russian missile technology was a decade ahead of the US.

US warships at the time had no defense to the Soviet supersonic cruise missiles. The phalanx has limitations that make its ability to defend against a small scale missile attack questionable, never mind a serious attack.

Now the soviet missiles incorporate stealth and are approaching hypersonic speeds and they conduct maneuvers as they get close to the target to evade defensive technology.

At the end of the day the floating cities known as aircraft carriers will be soon obsolete as are manned fighter aircraft ... for obvious reasons.

    Cheers

Look....I can at the very least appreciate that your post....uninformed as it might be....is at the very least respectful in the manner it reads and not suffering from ideologically driven pent up anger.

But I must tell you that I do NOT post anything about any nations Military Capabilities and ability of Military Force Projection....that I do not know to be facts and the realities as to know and understand the various capabilities of all Nations weapon systems, the people and soldiers who operate them as well as just how well such people are capable of doing so is a part of my JOB to know.

Now there is a difference between a Syrian Military Crew operating a Russian built weapon system and Russian's operating their own systems as such a difference....that being Russian operation of such systems increases both the effectiveness of the weapon system as well as it's suitability....but at the current level of U.S. Weapon Systems Technology as well the current Battle Hardened State and Experience and Practical Wartime Applications of U.S. Troops, Weapon Systems and the ability to correct any fault with such systems after they have been used in actual wartime is too vast and too great a reality for Russia to counter with anything less than Nuclear Weapons.

The United States Military has already demonstrated 4 ABM/ASAT Systems fully capable of EASILY destroying any incoming Russian Ballistic, Cruise or Short Range Missile systems and I have already several times posted a video link and will do so again of a U.S. Advanced SM-3 ABM/ASAT Missile destroying and DIRECTLY TARGETING just a HYDRAZINE BOOSTER TANK upon a U.S. Satellite in a failing orbit as in 2008 a failing Satellite had such a Booster tank that would have survived re-entry and since Hydrazine is a DEADLY TOXIC gas and the tank would have survived re-entry and if it had impacted in any populated area as the tank would have exploded upon impact with Earth and perhaps killed thousands of people.

This reality gave the U.S. Navy and Space Command the opportunity to test the SM-3 ABM/ASAT and OPERATION BURNT FROST was created.

    LINK.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDqNjnUNUl8

Now this is a fun video to watch as it not only explains Operation Burnt Frost but actually has a Telescopic Video of the actual impact and destruction of JUST the failing satellites Hydrazine Booster Tank as an SM-3 ABM/ASAT was launched from a Ticonderoga Class Aegis Cruiser....the USS. Lake Erie.....and this video SHOWS WHY any incoming Russian Missile be it at Hypersonic Speeds or not is NO THREAT to either U.S. Naval Ships or any Land based U.S. Military Targets.

The SM-3 ABM/ASAT is launched WITHOUT a warhead and just by sheer Kinetic Force Impact destroys JUST the Hydrazine Booster Tank and here is the kicker......it DIRECTLY IMPACTS AND destroys this Hydrazine Tank THAT IS JUST A PART....of this failing U.S. Satellite that is.......AT ORBITAL DISTANCE.....and traveling at a velocity between 14,000 and 18,000 miles per hour.

Such a velocity is FAR FASTER than the velocity that can be obtained by ANY RUSSIAN MISSILE and the SM-3 is so accurate it was able to strike just one specific PART....the Hydravine Tank.....OF THIS SATELLITE TRAVELING FASTER THAN ANY RUSSIAN MISSILE is capable of and also destroying it....AT ORBITAL DISTANCE....which is far greater a range than any incoming battlefield Russian Missile would be launched from.

Now this is just ONE or 4 ABM/ASAT Systems the U.S. Currently is using as there are several other ABM/ASAT Missile Systems but there is also 3 different A DIRECT ENERGY WEAPON SYSTEMS the U.S. employs and all 3 have been tested and one of them will be on active duty as the New U.S. Navy Nuclear Stealth Carriers the CVN-78 Gerald R. Ford....CVN-79 J.F.K.....and the CVN-80 Enterprise will ALL have installed the FEL...Free Electron Laser Systems and the 1st Ford Class Stealth Carrier will soon be at Sea Trials.

As well all Nimitz Class Carriers will also have FEL's installed along with all USN. Ticonderoga Class Aegis Cruisers.

Along with a Satellite Reflective Targeting System....these Navy FEL's will be capable of vaporizing any target at the SPEED OF LIGHT whether such targets are in Air, Space, Land, Sea or below the oceans surface as a Nuclear Powered Supplied FEL....as all Ford Class Carriers will supply power to the Free Electron Lasers system with 2 Nuclear Fission A1B Reactors and as well and this next part is classified but has leaked out on the internet thus I can mention it as such information has come into the public's consciousness.....such Navy Carriers use 2 Reactors to power both the ship and the FEL and as the new Ford Class Carriers will employ a MAG-LEV CATAPULT system rather than steam to launch aircraft.....it has been determined that in order to use the FEL to destroy enemy SUB's an additional Low Temp. Micro-Fusion Reactor which is small enough to be added to the Carrier and Cruisers will be installed.

I have not even mentioned Rail Gun's, the MEB...Microwave Emissions Beam....or various Land Based Particle Beams.

I do not need to address the veracity of your claims with anything other than they are very much over optimistic and as you stated (unless they use nukes). It is the unless they use nukes part that you need to consider.

The Russians have Rail Guns lasers particle weapons and so on.

Regardless, it doesn't matter. There is a big difference between a missile coming from space and a satellite but this is of no moment. Hopefully we will have direct energy weapons up and running soon but as of now they are science fiction in terms of implementation. They will need such technology to counter stealthy and smart hypersonic cruise missiles which already exist.

    1) The Russians can easily take out satellites ... now what ?
    2) The Russians have nukes and can blow the US to smitherines just as we can them and we both know it. now what ?
    3) The Russians have subs that we can not detect ... one popped up near an aircraft carrier not to long ago. (so much for a Nimitz class carrier) There is no defense against a bunch of Russian subs launching nuclear cruise missiles at us. Now what ?

    4) The future of manned planes ? There is no future.

Look .. we can not go to war with Russia.

If we do Einsteins statement will come true "I don't know how the 3rd world war will be fought but I know how the 4th world war will be fought - sticks and stones"

It is not that they are better or more powerful than us. It is that either one of us can destroy the other, and the world as we know it, in the blink of an eye.

What you state about Nuclear War is true...and there is an extremely low probability that Russia and the U.S. would ever go Nuclear...as well there is also an extremely low probability that Russia and the U.S. would go to war against each other.

What I am talking about is scenarios as that is what we do...develop Contingency Plans as to prepare for the worse and hope for the best.

The thing is that what were discussing was the ability of Russia to project POWER and the viability of Russian Weapons systems in the hands of Syria as opposed to such weapons systems being used by Russian's as if such such systems are manned by Russian's they are both more effective and obtain a greater ability to survive but it really makes little difference as such weapon systems are easily overcome by a combination of Higher Level of Technology U.S. Counter Weapons Systems and better trained Integrated Service U.S. Military Battlefield Fighting Techniques.

Even though this will probably NEVER happen let's just consider a moment what would happen if say the United States were forced along with NATO to remove Assad if Assad refused to give up all his Chemical Weapons as this is a very distinct possibility?

Now a DEAL has already been made between Russia and the United States as although Russia will not publicly admit it knows this it has been agreed that Assad has indeed used Chemical Weapons and as long as the Assad Regime gives up ALL it's Chemical Weapons the United States and NATO will not attack as even Putin has agreed that no country or regime can be allowed to go unpunished for using such outlawed weapons.

The DEAL is that while Russia will continue to publicly support Assad and say no proof exists that Assad used Chemical Weapons as long as the Assad regime gives up ALL it's Chemical Weapons the U.S. and NATO will agree NOT to attack.

Now IF Assad refused or does not give up all such weapons and we KNOW exactly how much and where these Chemical Weapons are....then Russia agreed to allow the removal of the Assad Regime as long as Russian Gas Pipeline Interests were protected as Putin could care less who run's Syria as long as Russian interests are maintained.

But let's say for a moment such a deal did not exist and the U.S. attacked Syria....so what do you think Russia would do?

Russia would do NOTHING....but let's say they did.

Russia has very little in the way of Military Force Projection as it's greatest in number by a factor of 100 to 1 Tank is the old T-72 which exists in the highest numbers of active Russian Tanks by far.

Against a single U.S. Armored Tank Division employing M1A2 Abrams Tanks, Bradly's and Self Propelled Howitzers as well such a division has Apache Longbow Choppers and since U.S. Military Forces fight as Integrated Services very unlike the Russian's such a U.S. Army or Marine Division would be backed by the USAF, U.S. Space Command and the U.S. Navy.

Against such a combined Integrated U.S. Military Force even a single or couple of U.S. Armored Divisions can go up against any number of Russian Armored Divisions and win BIG.

Still...you are right that Russia does have some good Battlefield Missiles and SAM's....but the United States has even better countermeasures.

Any such Missile Launch locations mobile or fixed are continuously tracked by U.S. Space Command as we learned the importance of being able to do this very well after the whole Desert Storm SCUD attacks on Israel.

The largest concern for any such Russian attack or counter attack would be the ability of U.S. B-2 Bombers to destroy at will any target anywhere prior to such a target being an issue and as well the U.S. has spent multiple Billions developing HARM Anti-Radiation or Anti-Radar Missiles which are used upon the First Strike to destroy and enemy Radar or Missile Guidance Systems.

But the BIGGEST DIFFERENCE between the two powers is the ability of the U.S. Military to destroy any incoming missile either before or after it obtains orbit if Ballistic as we use both Land Based and Satellite Based IR-Detection as well an incoming Russian Stealth MIRV which is coming in after using up all it's Independent Warhead Fuel...still obtains a readable Heat Signature ESPECIALLY if it is incoming at Hypersonic Speeds as air friction allows us to detect it stealth or not.

We are talking about two different things here. MIRV is different than a cruise missile.

The capability to destroy supersonic or hypersonic cruise missiles is limited. Further if Russia and the US are going to war Russia is going to take out the satellites, and we will take out theirs. It is really a ridiculous proposition but the only effective way to take out a ballistic missile is to get it just after launch.

As for cruise missiles: A ship will not see it coming until it is over the horizon at which point there is about 45 seconds to react. This is with the old ones, the newer hypersonic missiles you have about 20 seconds to react and the missile is making evasive maneuvers on the way in. There are serious doubts about the capability of the phalanx to deal with multiple missiles at the same time and the phalanx has limited ammo - runs out very quick.

Russia can launch many sorties = hundreds of missiles.

Regardless this is just silliness... Russia and US are not going to war over Syria and Syria only has the older Russian stuff and not much of it.

The US (and others) have created the largest humanitarian crisis in years in Syria by supporting the extremist rebels - giving them hope and arms.

We have supported Al Qaeda by our actions and helped to make a huge mess.

Was Assad a bad fellow .. yes ! but look who he was fighting against ? We have done bad things too fighting against such people.

At one time....the 80's, 90'sand even up till about 2005....a Cruise Missile attack would be an issue for a U.S. Carrier Battle Group and a Hypersonic Missile Attack even a bigger issue...but such issues ended around 2006...with the advent of the SM-3.

A Ticonderoga Class Aegis Cruiser is interlinked with all Carrier Group Ship Computers as well as interconnected with U.S. Land, Sea, Air...AWAC'S....and Space...Satellite Computerized Detection.

Let's say a Russian Sub and even these are all being tracked and followed by various Los Angeles Class, Virginia Class and Seawolf Attack Subs....was to launch a Hypersonic Cruise STEALTH Missile at a U.S. Carrier at a distance of 150 miles....an extremely close and improbable distance but we will use it anyways.

Let's say this SLCM is traveling at a rate of velocity at 3000 mph....or about Mach 4 plus.

At 3000 mph it takes just 3.5 Minutes for such a SLCM could get up to speed and travel 150 miles to strike a Carrier....and let's say such a missile cannot be detected by U.S. Radar.

Here is the thing....it only takes 28 SECONDS for IR-Satellite Detection to lock on to such a Missile and another 16 seconds to triangulate and transmit such data in real time to a U.S. Aegis Cruiser which will AUTOMATICALLY TRIGGER BY COMPUTER a launch of an SM-3 from the Cruiser....and help guide the SM-3 to target.

Since an SM-3 can EASILY HIT a target traveling at over 18,000 mph....such a missile traveling at a much lower velocity is like shooting ducks in a tub.
