Like just let the felon taser him and run off, at best? Great plan!

Got a link? And are you aware it is still a contact weapon? I had one and me and my pals would get hammered and see who could tag ourself the longest. I could only touch my own calf a millisecond before reflexes forced me to drop it and it was weak compared to what cops carry.

LOL, your own link does not prove your claim that the taser was disarmed (and like I said, still a contact weapon) but your link does say this (so yes, BS as usual) “Mr. Brooks violently attacked two officers and disarmed one of them. When Mr. Brooks turned and pointed an object at Officer Rolfe, any officer would have reasonably believed that he intended to disarm, disable, or seriously injure him,” the lawyers said.

And? It is still a contact weapon AKA "stun gun" Do you understand that? And different models can hold up to four projectile charges. The idiot fought a cop and lost. Big loss to society, now he cant beat his wife and kids anymore

Gawd. The thing was spent. Done and dusted. The alleged drunk was running away, uselessly fired the thing back at the persuing Cop and there was never any chance of 'contact.'

Running away, drunk with a stun gun justifies bullets in the back how? Who exactly was in imminent danger?

Atlanta rules for use of deadly force, lethal weapon is not required. All that is required is that the weapon have the ability to inflict serious injury. The Taser used by Atlanta Police requires a firearm license to possess. Therefore the event qualified for deadly force.

How many people have you seen let go after being caught for DUI? I have never seen one. I have, on COPS and Live PD, drunks that put up a fight while they are attempting to arrest them. They did not just let them go out of fear of escalating the situation. So, why should Brooks have been treated any different?

Actually, they had reguards for those that could have been killed if Brooks would have gotten behind the wheel while still drunk. The had reguards for the others that Brooks could have used the taser on in order jack another car. You had a drunk, armed, who had resisted arrest. You expect the officers to say, "It will work out. Well, just catch him later. (Key sounds of cars crashing in the background.) Sounds like the plot of some cheap comedy.

Here is another comedy element to this case. The GBI is still investigating the shooting, but the District Attorney has already filed charges of murder and 10 other felonies. Investigation not completed, and no Grand Jury enpaneled. This will not going to bode well for Atlanta. If the GBI provides testimony for the defense, and the officers get off, what do you think the protests will look like then?

Note the morons who would try it, dont resist arrest and certainly dont take any weapon from a cop. This should be included in the "talk".

So exactly how many times can one laser fire? Let's see, 2 cops, one laser taken and fired. Fortunately Brooks missed the cop he was aiming at. But even if he did hit the cop the laser he used is now useless so the second cop is in no danger as Brooks continues to run away. Now they have his car which will provide the police where Brooks lives. I'm fairly certain Brooks was heading towards his home, I doubt he's going to stop and hurt someone on the way and he certainly isn't going to harm his family.

Are you coming from a "black" or are you basing your opinion as a white person?

I think it’s from a logical position. The vast majority of police interactions with people are completely void of violence. Why is that? And what do we see in nearly EVERY incident with violence. Resisting arrest, law breaking, usually drunk or on something. I won’t say all because exceptions exist. But they are exceptions. 99.999% of cops don’t wake up looking to harm anyone. But they don’t have that choice Extreme exceptions exist because cops are people.

There's lots of honest black policemen. They're getting bricks and bottles to the head, too.

    Excellent find!

Oh, and prosecutors can pile accusations and charges on those Atlanta police officers until reach the stratosphere -- let's see what happens when the trial actually occurs. Fortunately, there's a very detailed video record that shows EXACTLY what happened regarding this incident with Raychard (were they trying to spell "Richard"...?) Brooks. Link:

So, Raychard Brooks fails a breathalyzer test and is in the process of being arrested by police. Instead of obeying the police officers, he fights them very violently, grabs the taser of one them and tries to evade recapture -- and with a police officer in pursuit, he turns and points the taser at the officer. The officer quite justifiably shoots him down -- because you can't have a violent man who's evading arrest running amok in public with a TASER! (Doh!) .

When all the bullshit is mashed out of these politically-correct, racially-correct 'accusations', the police officer will be found innocent of all charges, and that his actions were proper... wait and see!
