    WRONG again
If the DA said that then they need a new DA

So, according to your DA....if someone shoots innocent people in a bank, the cops can't shoot back at them........ if they are running away?

    OMG

And you missed the part where Brooks was running away. He was no threat to them so deadly force didn't need to be used.

I didn't know Brooks took tasers from both cops. He had one and once he fired it it became useless. Even if he did hit the first cop the other cop running behind the first could have taken Brooks down.

Assuming the DA is correct maybe that’s why the perp attacked police officers then took off running. Sounds like open season on cops in that city. Slug a cop and run. Nothing they can do about it

It is dangerous, it leaves the officer incapable of fighting back.

He fought them, he escalated it.

Little regard for his own life. He is dead, and it was his fault. He deserved it.

Since you have little faith in Police.....
Be sure you NEVER call 911, no matter what your crisis

I hope ALL cops in Atlanta quit.
I hope you live there. Before long you'll be on both knees BEGGING for their return.

IF the DA said that, he's wrong.

Fleeing felons do not have the right to escape, especially when they have murdered or seriously injured someone.

At common law, the fleeing felon rule permits the use of force, including deadly force, against an individual who is suspected of a felony and is in clear flight.

    Fleeing felon rule - Wikipedia

    Notice the word SUSPECTED
They don't even have to be guilty of a felony, just SUSPECTED of committing a felony

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.
    Apparently your DA doesn't either

It may take a lot of appeals, but the Atlanta cops WILL BE FOUND JUSTIFIED

Just so you don't explode....I think the cop in George Floyd's case is guilty of murder. But again, he may eventually be acquitted of ALL charges if they charge him with the wrong offense. Law Trumps Emotions.

He became violent - after 40 minutes of civil and even jovial conversation - when he was grabbed from the back. He had not been told he was under arrest at that point.

Oh, and the taser? Apparently they knew it had already been discharged twice - so, they knew he wasn't a threat to them. But, still shot him. Twice. In the back. As he was running away. And managed to hit a bystanders car with three people in it.

Then, once shot, he was not given medical assistance. Not for 2 and a half minutes. What were they doing during that time? Kicking him and standing on his shoulder.

Yep - violent criminal. Perfectly fine officers.

He pointed the taser over his shoulder AT THE COP as he was running. Classic case of stupid game, stupid prize. Just year close to here, a cop was incompacitated with a fist, then his gun was taken and he was killed with his own gun. Was he supposed to sit there and let the guy zap him and be likewise incompacitated so his gun could be taken as well?

    Yeah, I saw the video.
I thought to myself that the cop 'could" have been a little less rough.
For example, my thoughts (since the guy talked with them for a while) was they could have explained that they had to arrest him and what would happen.
I agree the cop seemed to go on the offensive suddenly....BUT....neither you nor I was there and so we could not get the in person vibes.
Perhaps the cops could tell he was about to run (or do something) and decided to end the discussion abruptly.

The worst thing he did was resist arrest.
I can all but guarantee if he had not resisted arrest he would be alive now.

DO NOT RESIST ARREST WHEN POLICE ARE IN YOUR PRESENCE.

Again, that said, Police need to be retrained that they are civil SERVANTS, not self appointed enforcers.
I agree there is too much Police brutality but I do NOT agree is it only against blacks.

My final thought here - Our society is getting more violent and Police are responding to that change. In one way I can understand their state of mind

Was it completely justified for two officers to kick him as he's laying on the ground after being shot twice in the back and stand on his shoulders?

This 'Rayshard' creep fought with police, evaded arrest, grabbed a taser, and tried to get away. He was shot... good.

In Colorado Springs last year, a negro 'youth' had a concealed gun but without permit. The cops had been called in because it was reported that he had committed armed robbery. They attempted to arrest him, but he took off -- with the gun in his pants -- and was shot dead. And the Colorado Springs police officers were found to be completely justified by a board of inquiry... and nobody got fired, either!

My take on the 'Rayshard' incident? The Atlanta bureaucrats are just trying to appease the anger of the negroes in Atlanta by firing the policeman who shot 'Rayshard', for the moment, to keep them from running amok like the negroes in Minneapolis did. The officer's trial will be in about another seven or eight months -- and he'll be acquitted. Then he'll sue Atlanta for a LOT of money, collect, and live the good life. And that's just fine with me....

By the way -- it's been pointed out in numerous places that it is incorrect to use the word "Black", or to capitalize the spelling of it -- so, I'm happy to stop doing that. Forty years ago it was considered quite OFFENSIVE to call negroes "Black" anyway. So, going forward, I'll call "whites" white, and in describing negroes, I'll use "negroes". We surely don't want to offend anyone....

Saw him being interviewed on CNN yesterday. But wait it cannot be true according to Trump, and his fans CNN is all FAKE news right.

If one watches the video you will see that Sheriff Williams said that he teaches police techniques and that the cop who shot the Wendy's guy used the techniques that Williams teaches.

The DA who is bringing charges against the cop is all over Twitter two weeks ago reminding people that in Georgia tasers are legally considered a deadly weapon. How is that gonna go over in a court room?
