He asphyxiated. His windpipe was obstructed thru pressure. Thats very obvious, not only when he said he couldn't breath, but when he passed out. THAT should have been a HUGE red flag to the officer. THAT in itself is why it should be murder. Once he passed out, the pressure should have been released. Thats common sense, you don't need to be trained to see that. Hell, Stevie Wonder could see that.

This is why I am Libertarian. When you arrest people for anything, stuff like this can potentially happen.

This Black man was just minding his own business, sitting in his car, albeit high on weed and/or drugs.

As Cicero said, "the more laws, the less justice".

You can find numerous other stories out there of Black people ending up killed for doing stuff that didn't need to be illegal.
One of the stories, for example, involved a black teen riding his bicycle on the sidewalk. The city had an ordinance against it and an officer tried to stop the kid to give him a citation, but the kid ran. The kid then got tackled to the ground, but during the fall onto the hard pavement there was a severe injury, accidentally.
This kid died, all to enforce a rule against riding a bicycle on the sidewalk.

That type of thing is something to think about.

Another anecdote used to create a fake narrative of black people suffering at the hands of police. They kill each ihy her far more than anything. Police are more likely to die to them, than vice versa.
More fake outrage for political reasons.

Im not debating that he should not have been restrained.

There are 2 key points in this video that point to nothing but murder

    1. The suspect tells the officer he cant breath. At that point the Officer should use another technique
    2. The suspect passed out.The officer should fully release at that point.

Instead, the officer kept the pressure on the neck for another 2-3 minutes. Thats murder. It would have been no different had he pulled out his service revolver and shot him.

We apparently learned nothing from the Eric Garner arrest.

Blood chokes will also make you pass out.

Much faster in fact (seconds instead of minutes). That's why blood chokes are taught. He wasnt struggling to breathe, he wasnt coughing or gasping for air...

His blood supply to his brain got caught off, so he passed out.

But when the officer didn't let off, at that point the brain starts to die off without fresh oxygen.

Unfortunately, that's what they all say, and making it difficult to breath is part of the whole point.

    1) suspects tell officers they can't breathe all day. They tell them they have bad backs, just had knee surgery, they have asthma. They always say the cuffs are too tight.

Just because someone says they're uncomfortable doesn't mean you disregard your training.

    2) you're right about that

    Manslaughter.

Yeah, AP is pushing for race riots so they'll have something else to photograph and report. No mention in the article that for every black person killed by Police, they kill two whites. It doesn't fit the medias purpose of creating rather than simply reporting the news.

Wow, usually I don't have an issue with the police using force, as in most cases it ends up justified. I don't think I can say that about this one, as it looks to me the guy is subdued, and cuffed, and is telling the officer he can't breathe. The officer just stays on him for an extended period of time, seemingly an eternity as I watched the video, saying, "ok, let him up now, you got him"... I only have the video to go off of, but it looks to me that the was no reason for the officer to not get off his neck, and this may end up being a manslaughter charge filed against the officer.

He's not going to leave the ground on his stomach with his hands cuffed behind him and they can even cuff his feet. And then stand there with a TASER. The first minute when they were cuffing him, yeah but just doing it to just be doing it. He had backup the entire time.

Hey don't resist arrest in the first place causing a need for physical force. But once that physical force works and the suspect is on the ground, under control, stop with the what appears to be a retribution

Plenty of white people get killed by the cops. This idiotic "this only happened because he was black" bullcrap is going to turn off a lot of people who might otherwise support the victim here.

Twice as many whites are killed by cops each year than blacks. If you are white and act belligerent and resist arrest, there is a chance you are going to get a beatdown or killed. The DIFFERENCE is that nobody is going to give a damn and the story will most certainly NEVER EVER EVER show up in the MSM.

That said, this looks like a case of manslaughter. This cop is going down.

So as long as the cop follows procedure he or she has the green light to kill someone. Got it.

Very difficult to watch. I see numerous questions about the need to stay on his neck after he'd already been restrained. I see no answers. It appears the cops are also acting like the judge & jury in this case. Penalty, death. Resisting arrest shouldn't be an instant death penalty crime.

I still support the victim here, but I dont support the agenda that it only happens to black victims.

I can't imagine how anyone could watch that video and not want to knock that officer on his ass.

You could hear it in his voce that he was having trouble breathing. I understand that blood flow causes the passing out, because thats how the brain gets oxygen ;)

kudos. It was very hard to watch. Just like the Eric Garner video.

To this day I still don't understand how no officer was adjudicated for that mans death

If you watch the full video, the suspect was having a conversation with one of the bystanders for several minutes. If he was having a conversation, he could breathe.

The bystander even said "you had a chance to get in the car, why didn't you just get in the car?"

Damn straight. Definitely not with someone sitting on his neck. Works just like it is intended to.

I'm not going to argue that once the man passed out, the officer shouldn't have let off. I completely agree with that.

Prior to that, though, the whole thing was done by the book.

Which is why I said he'll get manslaughter... because a tried and true technique used every day for decades didnt work as intended with this one individual.
