    No, they reported he did not contact Putin first.

    Also, just a heads up, they were Tomahawk missiles, not Harpoons. Harpoons are Ship to ship weapons. Tomahawks are cruise missiles.

    Well, Trump is certainly not afraid to use the military.

    You mean like drawing lines in the sand and getting the sand kicked in his face like Obama? That was hypocritical of him and a big show of weakness. Obama spoke loud and never acted. Trump just acted and sent a message Assad to stop killing his people and stop the use of chemical weapons. In the meantime Trump also sent a message to his guest from China.

    This is wonderful news, just fantastic. 7 years late, but better late than never.

    Mind you, I've no love for the syrians who harbored terrorists who used syrian soil from which to launch attacks against US forces in iraq, along with harboring hamas and hezbollah terrorists and weapons, but I do not accept the use of sarin gas/chlorine bombs on women and children. assad is a war criminal and murderer, I just wish Trump had targeted the regime and not an air base.

    That's a quick way to spend $50 million dollars (each Tomahawk is about a million).
    Political and economic sanctions are less expensive - but I guess everyone has a different approach to problems.
    Just hope that Trump doesn't start looking at Tomahawks as his hammer and the rest of the world as a nail.

    59 cruise missiles launched and imagery due out soon. Mattis planned and carried out the attack at the direction of the President.

    Update: The Russians were informed through a hotline before the attack. Multiple warnings, Commander to Commander.
