If stupidity is as rampant as you suggest, then it is clear that evolution has failed in ridding stupidity from the Earth. BTW: who stuck a pair of tweezers in an electric receptacle?

Failed to completely eliminate a human trait...yes.

    Limited it....absolutely.

When our ancient Human ancestors were around only those that were the strongest and most intelligent survived the trials of nature.

Now we have developed to the point just intelligence is necessary for survival and as I am both well trained and a teacher of various forms of survival I can tell you the average person would not last more than 36 hours in a New England Winter lost in the woods as they have no training.

Such a reality might be the undoing of the Human Race if a massive disaster occurred.

I guess the belief in the flood being used to get rid of the bad seeds failed too then

but you know evolution doesn't mean only the smartest survive

Were those that were destroyed in the flood the only ones that would ever be bad? No? Another proof that evolution does not and cannot rid the world of stupidity. Would you like to rephrase your claim?

Please don't tell me you actually believe that there was a worldwide flood??

You know this is not possible right??

You know that the added mass necessary to cover all land masses on Earth which would be an increase in ocean sea level of about 5.5 MILES not only would cause the Earth to fly out of it's solar orbit as well as cause the moon to impact the Earth...but as well there does not even exist even close to that amount of water on Earth even if all ice melted the increase would be only about 216 feet above current sea level.

PLEASE...don't tell me you believe in Noah's Ark??

I never made the claim that evolution would rid the world of stupidity

    http://www.videobash.com/video_show/idiocracy-intro-245281

the offspring that survive and reproduce... carry on....

so sense you believe in the flood, what was the point of the flood? why kill every living creature except a boat load, do you think your God screwed up so bad the first time he needed to start over?

    ?
The basis of Modern Science is founded upon the Scientific Method.

This method says that when an observation is made during an experiment, everyone can duplicate that experiment as see the same results themselves.
That make the observation a "fact."

A fact is a piece of Reality we all can observe and all agree upon.
It demonstrates that facts are proving that one Reality exists for us all.

I never said that you made that claim. All I asked you is if you would like to rephrase your claim.

What type of flood are you referring to? also, when and where did I say that I believed in a flood? If you had asked if I believe the flood story to be true, then my answer would have been "Yes", why? Because the "flood story" is printed in every KJV in the world and I have copies of that KJV here at my home... so, I believe that the "flood story" is true as it is evidenced in that book called the 'Bible'. I can hold it in my hands, I can see it, I can smell the aroma of ink on paper, I have not 'heard' it as that book don't speak, nor do I desire to taste it, as the notion of chewing inky paper does not appeal to me.

You mean myths such as objective reality? Something (objective reality) which the scientists can only assume the existence of?

that's wrong. The term "fact" is not really something that exists within science. Einstein's theory of relativity isn't a fact, it's a theory. Theories are hypothesis that are consistent with observations that we have made. But that doesn't mean that are "proven true." They have just been proven to be likely. In science, we don't say something is true or false. We say something is more or less likely.

given how much science has changed the world, in only the past 50 years, one cannot even fathom what 2000 years will look like.

Jesus' magic will not be a part of the equation 2000 years from now....just like Zeus' magic is not part of the equation today. Obviously. As science rises, Jesus falls. We're seeing that in polls that show people fleeing the illogical and unscientific beliefs (religions).

As per usual, you raise some good points. But when confronted with the points you make above, when asked how is that possible, the religious just answer "well, god made it so that wouldn't happen." An imaginary friend is non-falsifiable, so they have a get-out-of-jail-free card for every occasion. "God did it" is the worst answer in world history.

I think that belief in the supernatural will always be there - it is written into our genetic code. It may not take the form of Jesus or Zeus, but it will take some form or another.

When only about 1 - 2% of the people believe in the supernatural then I'll be satisfied, The figure is plummeting every decade (recently), so things are coming along nicely. "Jesus" of course doesn't care about humans enough to simply snap his fingers and provide jury-level of evidence for his divinity. If I had that ability I'd of course do that, because I (and most decent people) care about humanity far more than Jesus does. He could take time out of his busy daily schedule of ignoring the prayers of cancer victims, to make time to do that. :-D

He won't re-grow limbs on people (even though, as an "all-powerful", "all-caring" being he could do that - he does for lizards and flatworms, so why not for humans - clearly he loves them more than he loves humans.)

Of all the assumptions we can make, objective reality has proven to be the most useful one ever.

"useful" would be just a tad bit ambiguous.

Well....the thing is a person such as myself who has actually STUDIED BIBLICAL HISTORY....not just read the Bible but actually studied HOW THE BIBLE WAS CREATED BY THE ROMAN IMPERIAL BIBLICAL CANON....as well as studied how the Hebrew TANAKH states that Moses CROSSED THE REED SEA...or YAM SUPH....and it say's this 23 Times....and it DOES NOT SAY MOSES PARTED THE RED SEA.

Moses crossed the Yam Suph or Reed Sea or Seaweed Sea which is a marshy tiday region between the Med Sea and Red Sea.

There was no 1000 foot walls of water being parted....that is all made up.

Anyways....I understand that there has never existed any MIRACLES.

You would have trouble getting out of bed if your room wasn't objectively real. We wouldn't be having this discussion either. There isn't much of anything you could do if reality wasn't objective.

Define reality; then define real; Even if considering a private (self made) definition of either term, the question would arise "Where did those definitions come from?" The answer of course would be "from the subjectivity of mind." One (even the scientists and greatest philosophers of all time0 cannot escape the subjectivity of mind.

Look at the history of the world. Humans are programmed to believe in dogma. Whether that is a polytheistic religion, a monotheistic religion, a religion that doesn't claim any god, or simply a political system of thought, humans are all hardwired to be easily brainwashed (you and me included). Even amongst elite scientists (member of the academy of sciences), 7% believe in a personal god. If elite scientists can only get to 7%, what chance do you have that the world will one day be 1-2%? It's a pipe dream.

But there are different levels of subjectivity. Experimental evidence that everyone can experience is far more objective (and thus, "real") than something that only one person can experience. If I tell you there's a chair in front of me, and you can see the chair too, then the chair is a lot more "real" than if I tell you there's a chair in front of me, but only I can see it. Sure, the chair may be "real" to me, but if only I can see it, then it is real only to me.
