Because masks aren't cutting it. It's an impractical, medieval technology that doesn't fully work for crap.
The vaccines still allow the transmission of the virus, unlike vaccines for Polio or Small Pox.
Shutting down the economy is not a solution, either.

People are ignoring actual science and ignoring the practicalities of this issue, while also not calling for the people responsible to be penalized aren't helping anyone.

The flu hits every year. We do not call it a "pandemic". Sure, COVID is slightly more fatal than the flu. Slightly.

Covid was classified a pandemic under Trump, he declared a national emergency, issued guidelines to the states to shut down, declared himself a war time president against an invisible enemy... seems it was more than just a flu

You assume that in their personal lives, that they "are fine" with forcing kids to mask. That's an assumption you cannot prove. They may indeed be NOT happy about the private school mandates, but do not want to rip their kids out of their social circles just to take away your stupid talking point.

They did not advise the schools to mandate masks.

That's not proof. That's you making a dumb comment. To prove they are hypocrites, you will need to prove 1) that they are secretly happy about the mask mandates at their kids' schools. You cannot. And 2) that they should rip their children out of their social networks and sacrifice their kids' education to make you happy, lol.
