In battle over gay weddings, Alliance Defending Freedom used aggressive tactics - The Washington Post

I found this investigative article on WaPo that was quite interesting and explains why we have been seeing all these ridiculous lawsuits by vendors claiming they cannot serve LGBTQ+ folks because it goes against their religious beliefs and "freedom".

    It's all hogwash!

These are all manufactured lawsuits designed for only one purpose, to drive the agenda of Christian Nationalists, and it had it's beginnings all the way back in the 90's. This IS the Christian Taliban insisting on dominating the culture wars to invoke their very unchristian beliefs. Couple this with the right-wing judges the Orange Loaf placed in the judiciary, the bomb they have laid is slowly showing its ugly head.

We have to fight this religious extremism or lose our democracy as we know it.

Well, but as I recall, that was the exact opposite case in the wedding cake case in Colorado.
The owner was targeted by radicals looking for a case.

You see, this stuff works both ways.

if the baker had sold them the cake, would not be an issue...

They could have went to another bakery, but buying a cake wasn't the plan. Targeting a Christian because of his religious beliefs was the plan. He was singled out because of his religion.

They shouldn't be discrminating against Christians because of their faith. See how that works?

The difference is the baker and the patrons actually existed in that case. The new cases are missing a patron or the entire bit is made up like we saw with the football coach coercing students to pray.

What’s kind of ironic though is that it is just causing many people to see evangelical nationalists as bullies and will ultimately result in even more people not only turning away from religion but turning against it.

Demographics don’t look good for them.

Then it's not Christianity. Since when does Christianity encourage its followers to be bullies and snowflakes?

Christianity encourages believers to avoid sin. Why do you hate Christians?

no one is discriminating against Christians, Christians can choose not to sell wedding cakes if they wish, they do not have to descriminate

The people that targeted the Denver bakery absolutely targeted him because he's a Christian.

The local government even said admitted discriminating against him because he's a Christian.

How about looking at this as simply a matter of kindness to our fellow man.

The owner is not refusing to make the cake simply because it offends him. He is doing it because he believes it would offend his God. Trying to force him to do something which he believes will offend his God is a very unkind act.

The person ordering the cake has numerous options. He could just order a plain cake and decorate it himself. He could get the cake elsewhere. He could just have a plain cake. Those would be acts of kindness to his fellow man.

Welcome to the pendulum swing and people finally seeing bad actors & subversive types infiltrating organizations to push Social Marxism. I'd gladly welcome the Christian Taliban with open arms. Maybe they'd be more inclined to actually help American citizens rather than internal and external Oligarchs.

They targeted him because he's a Christian, so they could sue him. There are 50 other bakeries in Denver.

nope, they went in to buy a wedding cake, had he sold it to them, would not of been a issue

if a baker wants to discriminate, make it a member's only club, not a business open to the public

they will not be allowed to set up shop in a zone where business open to the public like a ped mall and such though, as that is for businesses that do not discriminate
