Even the Vatican isn't against gay unions. In it's case marriage is about a more permanent union which protects reproduction and the children.

Bold: Quite possible, or do you think that they can't be cream filled cakes?

But regardless, you are not arguing honestly. It is not the cake that is the problem. It is the representation, both you and I know this. That you're trying to pretend that it is just about a cake is dishonest.

It's not religious extremism- it's freedom. Your freedom to be you- the other persons freedom to be them.

If you don't wish to buy a product from some particular seller, that is your right, your freedom. You can, and do, turn down vendors of products everyday- when you refuse to patronize Wendy's but go to McDonalds, you have chosen, for any reason you may have, to refuse to buy from Wendys. Maybe you don't like the food, or maybe the staff or the way the door swings- the reasons make no difference, you have the freedom to choose, to support what you want to support, which you do not need to justify to anyone. That's what freedom is.

Societies are shaped by the people in them- all free choices so long as they do not interfere with the rights of others. You have the right to shape yourself- you do not have the right to shape others, nor the right to force them to like the shape you have chosen for yourself. Their freedom to not do business with those they find offensive is just as valid as your freedom to not do business with those you find offensive.
    Period.

    It's not a one-way street.

Do you believe a lunch counter should be allowed to go back to not serving blacks?

Oh by all means we must keep people from exercising their religion if it inconveniences people engaged in certain government sanctioned activities,

Only if others go back to not serving whites. I am reminded of an old hard core racist dude who ran a drug store in the deep south some 80 years ago, he wouldn't let Black people eat at his lunch counter so the local Black folks got together and responded by boycotting his drug store. That cost him forty percent of his business and he quickly figure out that he couldn't stay in business in that town without black customers and shortly there after rescinded the noxious policy the boycott ended and he dropped hid overt racist crap,

They weren't members only. Gays in fact could have bought any thing in the store but a gay themed wedding cake which the owner refused to bake. There is a difference between tolerate and accept that seem to be entirely lost on the left.

Do you believe that things people have no control over are the same as things they do?

someone will have to test that, see if they sell them other baker goods for a gay wedding, or if only the cake (my guess it would be any product, but be a good test)

As long as they don't specify it as being for a gay wedding they can get whatever they want.

One ignorant man out of thousands does not represent anything.

However, some people feel very strongly about their religion. When a LGBT group targets a Christian owned bakery, it only aggravates the situation. They could have just gone in and quietly ordered a wedding cake or go to some other bakery. Just live and let live.

Intentionally targeting them for a reaction will result in a reaction and the reaction is seldom good.

    No one is stoning anyone.

Do you think it made relations between the LGBT and the Christians better or worse?

I think it prevents some future victims from going to the store and being discriminated against
